Those Who Like Palmer, He's Demanding Trade

Sorry if you cant win throwing to Ocho and TO, then u suck. Plain and simple.

Owens is 37. He went for almost 1000 yards and 9 TDs. Not bad considering Owens is nowhere close to being what he was.

Bengals sucked so bad this year b/c the run disappeared. Give Palmer a run game and he is more than a decent option.

But like many athletes that request trades, Palmer fails to recognize the feasibility of switching teams. Five years ago if Palmer was put on the block at least a dozen franchises would have been harassing Cincinnati around the clock.

But that was one ACL tear, an elbow injury, several concussions, and four bad seasons ago. The fact is Palmer has been playing garbage football for some time, and is a constant health risk. On top of that, he's still owed a ridiculous $50 million over the next four years.

the people wanting him are assuming Carolina doesn't take on that contract. No team will take that on. If Palmer is willing to retire....then he will be willing to rework his deal.

He would. He's already stated that he's pretty much "set for life" so renegotiation is unlikely to be a problem.

It's far from "can't miss".

I'm not a big fan of Palmer. I believed he was overrated even before the injury.

I could live with him as a stopgap, but then I could live with Billy Volek or Marc Bulger as a stopgap too. Add in that what it would likely take to trade for him is certain to be more than I'd be willing to give up (I'm very selfish when it comes to trades).

Objectively speaking, Palmer could be the best (sort of) available candidate, but that's true as much as anything because the veteran QB prospects this season are nothing to write home about.

Especially with our history of trades/lack of picks this year we go from 1st to 3rd round picks and it could be even less than that if we trade for him.

Seems to me Palmer is like Delhomme. Good until he got injured and the game has taken a toll on his body. I don't see him being a viable option at this point as a starter. If he were released it might be a different matter. As for restructuring, didn't the old CBA said a player couldn't restructure a contract for less money or did I make that up??

Don't know what he would do as a mentor or to help with the rookies.
