Last year's QB slide this year?

I can't imagine Cam hitting the third. Someone will chance him in the 2nd if not the 1st.

Mallett I could see getting there though.

Dalton and Stanzi should also be available in the third. I like Stanzi's recent work ethic. He had questions with his mechanics last year and he really worked hard to improve his throwing motion and release. He really, really brought his game to another level this year, but he sometimes disappears in big games still, so there are obvious question marks.

What if last year's crazy QB slide trends to this year? Very good chance of Cam being there at the top of the 3rd if that's the case.

only crazy slides in recent history involve Notre Dame QBs. Cam looks to follow the The Golden Calf of Bristol reach imo.

Colt McCoy slid into the 4th didn't he?

No, 3rd round, picked in the middle of the round in the 80s overall I think.

edit: It's worth noting that according to Scout's Inc, Colt McCoy is rated lower than any of the top 4 quarterbacks in this draft (newton, mallett, gabbert, locker), and was ranked at 44 on Scout Inc's board before the draft...

Mallet has 'character issues' as well. Public intoxication.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
