Still waiting to here why Rodgers over Davis would have been a bad idea.

at the time, it was unrealistic to draft a QB, especially when the panthers felt (and rightly so) they were just a few players away from a super bowl. in retrospect yeah it'd be nice but it doesn't take into consideration the circumstances surrounding the pick.

Rodgers would have sat behind jake for 2 year's before the elbow injury in 2007, or close to it. He is a very talented QB, it might have been a slower transition for him but at some point Rodgers, smitty, moose, dwill, jstew, and Hoover. Who know's how it would have went?

To be fair, a lot of that argument rests on whether we would have been able to keep McCoy after 2008. He had a lot to do with Jake's development, right?

We drafted Thomas Davis because of the Hurney-Fox hard on for guys that play one position converting him somewhere else.

IE

Thomas Davis(Safety to LB), Charles Godfrey(CB-FS-SS), Sharrod Martin(FS-Cb-FS), Armanti Edwards(QB-Not active WR), All Wrs(WR-out of the league)

we drafted Davis because of Michael Vick, simple as that. And passing on Flacco and Rodgers was just stupid as hell but what do expect from the gm that tried to trade back into the 1st to get jimmy clausen

I believe that was the season after Jake brought us back from 1-6 or 1-7 to almost make the playoffs? Jake was still a good QB back then. Davis was more of a need than QB.

Yeah in hindsight you can that but 2009 Davis was having a Pro Bowl season when he got hurt.

You can go through every draft and say that. OH WELL.
