Will our FAs want to be a part of JRs org?

It's a simple question though. Besides the ability to overpay like the other 31 teams have, what advantages do the Panthers have in signing potential free agents that most other teams don't have?

Panthro lives in Charlotte and we have a lot of trees.

Let the bidding begin.

I hope you realize that probably half the players who are on the front lines of these negotiations won't even be in the league in 3-4 years, and the players who will be replacing them probably won't care about, or even remember this one single episode that may or may not have happened exactly the way Feeley or "unnamed sources" said it did. People are getting all worked up over nothing, IMO.

Oh okay. so you'd trust two guys not in the biz right now with plenty of reason to talk (gets you a bigger audience the more noise you make) over a guy who not only is still close friends with many guys on this team but has a good reason to be unhappy with the owner?

meh.

The players know this is business and not personal.

You don't think Moose still has friends on the team? Is 2009 really that long ago? And anyway, he's always been a Mike Rucker/Mike Minter Panther PR guy. Almost like Charlie Dayton in terms of not saying negative things about the front office, much less Jerry Richardson himself. It was striking to hear him even have the slightest bit of criticism towards Richardson.

All players care about is at the end of their career they want to have as many championship rings as possible and they will play for anyone that they think can make that happen.

The don't pick teams based on whether or not Sunday dinner with the owner will be fun.

Some of you guys really are naive...

oh and cash....

They are some greedy muthers.

Seriously.

As long as Oakland continues to sign free agents with Al Davis as their owner, JR will have ZERO effect on any free agent's decision to sign here.

Pretty much this.

JR might be a dick, but all the players see (especially these days) are the $$$ signs.

If players used moral choices in where they went during free agency, the League is a very boring place.

When contract length and money are equal will our owners actions hurt us? If it does that means we will have to overpay.

Have you heard of a single Panther player, current or previous, say anything negative about Richardson? I cant think of any of them saying anything but positive things about him......ever.

    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
    • Me, signing up for FanDuel Network, and then canceling FanDuel Network:
    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
