if he gets hurt we're in no worse situation than if lloyd had to take over FGs.

I meant having one Kicker handle PK, KOS, and Punter. You would have to bring in 2 guys all at once and hope they both work. It would be a gamble and the kicker would have to be pretty special to do all 3 well in the NFL but to me an extra roster spot would be worth the gamble.

I think the Falcons tried to do it with Koenen in 06. He started off 2-6 and got replaced on kicking duties but kept on punting and doing kick offs. I don't know anybody else who has tried it.

Thought if we draft Cam Newton he should Kick as well since it seems everyone thinks he is the cure all.

No and for good reason, they'll have dead leg by week 6.

I could see us picking up a player in the later rounds as a kicker. Or picking up someone who gets released from another team. Or working with Baker to kick off. I don't know. But it we draft someone they would have to be good enough to supplant the starter. Otherwise they get cut or put on the practice squad and can be plucked by another team for next to nothing. Then it becomes a largely wasted pick.

As long as Kasay and Lloyd keeps booting FG's and touchbacks, they're all right with me. Too many teams are struggling to find good, reliable kickers. You don't know what you have until you miss it.
