D.Will Unlikely To be Tagged

I can't imagine us tagging a Kalil. Tagging a center? At his age, get the guy a longterm deal. Money well spent.

I'd slap the tag on Johnson. He put a up very good numbers with no starting caliber DT on the roster and a guy who basically posed no pass rush threat playing the majority of the time at the opposite DE spot. Teams are always willing to give big money to good young pass rushers and that's what Johnson is. If he hits the market we may lose him.

I hope we resign D-Will. I really like Stewart, but the guy has battled injuries below the knees every season. They haven't hampered him too much on the field yet, but that's the key word - YET.

Two things to note:

First, it's LaCanfora. He's wrong his fair share of times so I wouldn't take it as gospel just yet.

Second, the possibility exists that they may not need the franchise tag to keep Williams.

true.

lacanfora is just throwing crap on the wall to see if it sticks.

there has been nothing said by hurney or rivera or chud that would cause anyone to think they have any intention of letting williams get away.

you like this move? letting dwil walk for nothing?

if this happens it spells complete incompetence of the FO.

I think there is more to it regarding tags though. He might want to resign too, even better.

edit: never mind I see you are assuming they will resign him, "Miami calling" is what I was talking about damn you grits lol

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
