They made a discord.... The audacity of not inviting everyone. Pfft. lol

Sons-o-bitches! I didn't know either, but I'm not interested in echo chambers either, so...they can have it! The Huddle, even a broken one, is still on top of the hill

Do you remember the asking price by chance?

I would assume Igo has to be making some money, or the site wouldn't be worth buying. The site must be at least have to be self-sustaining. I wouldn't even want it if it wasn't at least that.

The only way I would figure that Igo would neglect the site as he has is that he has lost interest, but the site is still making money on a small margin, enough to pay for itself under current conditions, and/or he needs the money--- or is simply using the money for other things and bleeding it dry. It may be to the point that he doesn't want to put any more resources into it because it would actually cost him money. I don't know, all I can do is speculate. I do know that the site needs to be fixed. I just got my year's badge under an alt. That's crazy. It's been a year since I lost access to my regular account, and nothing has been done. Well, I guess "Top Dawg" is no more. LOL

Igo probably just has a lot going on. At least he says he's going to right the ship. We'll see.

I can't remember the details nor the user's original name here, but they're very active in other Panthers-related hubs. I don't want to guess on something that's already hearsay... we see how that goes with team owners let alone site owners. 😛

"toxicity" meaning we didn't use mod powers to create a personal echo chamber for them.

Sure seems this place is overall considerably less toxic after most of the people whining about people having the audacity to express football opinions on a forum built to discuss football up and left. I hope they're happy at their Discord. They wanted an echo chamber and they made themselves one. It worked out best for everyone.

Toxicity meaning that you yourself were engaging in personal attacks and poo posting, so the most unstable users felt empowered to do the same. Considering that you're bitching less, it's no surprise they're following suit.

The discord was also formed loooong before you shitted things up here. You should give it a shot, you might learn something about football.

Why don't you just go enjoy Discord? You constantly keep bringing this stuff up. You're the only poster left here who does. Everyone else who just whines all the time left. They found somewhere else they're happier. That's good. That's how things should work. Maybe you should follow their lead.

I actually like the mods on this forum.  They have a thick skin unlike some posters.  If you got banned on this forum then you pretty much deserved it.  The mods here also give many folks second and even third chances.

I have enjoyed the Discord. It's been awesome getting the more stable and knowledgeable posters from the Huddle over in there as well since there's good discussions going on and a lot of good information being shared. There's a decent bit of info I bring over here from there.

There are also people that I enjoy here and engage with. Sometimes that means witnessing you ignoring information in favor of an unfettered opinion that you've taken a shine to pushing (such as "all the whiners left" when you're still right here bitching like you always have). If it hurts your feelings to know that there's a place that people have gone because of the environment you've perpetuated, that's something for you to work on.

What exactly do you contribute to the board other than running off quality posters and enabling poo posters? I don't see any analysis, breakdowns, etc from you.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone got one.  Your definition of quality might be very different from definition on this board.  Also, I know Lin pretty well and I can tell you… he ain’t losing any sleep at night knowing there’s a discord group.

For the past 20+ years folks tried to mimic huddle and replace it, it always failed.  This discord account won’t be any different.

I find it ironic that you accuse me of "shitting" up the forum while you're the one actively shitting up this thread with a bizarre personal vendetta. LOL

There's an ignore feature. Use it.

You don't like how this place is ran. Evidently that's all my fault. But you keep coming back to cry about it.

I don't post as much anymore but  i check this site everyday.  I see the value in Reediitt, but the hardcore Panther historians are here, and also we've all known each other so long that it really in a tight nit community here.  It would be dope if we all had custom shop jerseys with our Huddlenames on it and met up at the games.

I don't know if the Huddle will grow or not, but the people who've invested years of their life on this site will never leave.

Oh for sure. Some folks want an argumentative mess where they can bounce around in the chaos and that's fine. Though seeing as how the numbers for the server keep going up meanwhile we don't see many new posters here that aren't alt accounts... so... idk about that last part...

I also have zero doubt that LG isn't losing any sleep over this because that's not exactly something that somebody with NPD would do (which explains why he felt justified in promoting toxic behavior while trying to make it appear as if the people that left in opposition to it were unreasonable).

The biggest thing that's hurt the Huddle is the same thing that's hurt Panthers fandom in general. We have sucked for years now. That's rough on a fanbase. The heyday of Internet forums is largely over. That's just the reality. Social media largely replaced forums and then Reddit came along and built a large all encompassing forum that sucked up a lot of the traditional forum users. It is what it is. But there's a pretty solid group of dedicated users here and if the Panthers start winning again it'll grow. A lot of folks who have drifted off will probably come back.

But here's the thing, anyone who has stuck around whether you agree with them or not, whether you like them or not they are absolute diehards. You can't truly enjoy the good times if you're not willing to suffer through the bad times.

Dude... you keep complaining about an argumentative mess while you are the only one trolling for an argument. YOU ARE BEING THE TOXICITY.

    • Canales’ recipe for success is simple — slow the game down with long drives that keep the other team’s offense off the field. Long drives are built from short gains but short gains require more 3rd-down conversions.  The Panthers are converting 37.5% of their third downs, which is average but not enough. As a result, they have attempted 21 fourth downs — the most in the NFL — and they’ve converted 71.4% of them, ranking 3rd among teams with at least 15 attempts. The Chiefs are second @ 80% and the Colts are first at 88% but the majority of their conversions are short yardage runs - not passes.  The Panthers have had three big wins this season — against Miami, the Cowboys, and the Packers — those conversions have played a major role in each of those wins. Miami The Panthers trailed by 17 in the 2nd quarter, facing a 4th-and-5 at the Miami 48. Young threw a 21-yard completion and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced another 4th-and-5 at the Miami 33. Young delivered a 17-yard completion for the 1st down and they went on to score the winning TD. Cowboys The game is tied and the Panthers take over at their own 14 with 6 minutes left. Rico picks up 16 yards and Young converts two 3rd downs, gaining 37 yards, but misses on a third conversion. At the Cowboys’ 40, facing a 4th-and-4 at the 2-minute mark — knowing the Cowboys likely score if they get the ball back — Canales has them go for it. Young converts with a 7-yard pass putting them at the 33 in FG range. They then go on to kicj the game winning FG. Packers Young was 2-for-2 on 4th-down attempts. Then on the final drive starting from their own 19 with the score tied, Young converts two 3rd downs for 19 yards and Rico adds another 19 to move them into field-goal range for the win. In total, Bryce went 2-for-4 on 3rd downs and 5-for-5 on 4th downs on critical plays in those games. When the Panthers needed 1 yard against the Packers on their own 41 early in the game, Canales went to Young. - not Rico. When they needed 4 yards to keep the drive going at the 2 minute mark against the Cowboys he went to Young. Those throws weren’t empty-yardage completions; they were high-pressure, must-convert moments that directly contributed to all three wins. I keep reading how the Panthers  are winning in spite of Young, that Canales doesn’t trust him and schemes around him. But these drives show the opposite: when the game is on the line, Canales has consistently put the ball in Young’s hands and Young has consistently produced in those moments.  Some people do well in normal situations but crumble under pressure. Others can be uneven in normal times but produce when the presure is greatest. The question is who would you rather have in the playoffs. More importantly, who do you think Canales and the FO would want?
    • I think is worse news for Tremayne. They need special teams help with him questionable.  If T-Mac is down, XL, Coker, Horn, and Renfrow. No way Chisena gets meaningful snaps as WR, only on special teams.
