Maybe a weeeee bit exaggerating. I think he will be a great player. But that doesn’t look like someone that was super committed in the weight room during college which is just a little confusing. Maybe he cut some weight to try and run a better 40.

We saw Julio come into the league a little skinnier, get bigger/stronger and really start dominating. Strength and size is important as a big physical x receiver. It’s not so important for the Devonta Smith role

I don't agree with this, he looks jacked to me.  His frame won't allow him to ever be as big as XL, and that's fine.  He will just have a hard time with press, there are ways to deal with that.

Pretty much my exact response when people were down on him because of the Drake London comps

I get that his first two seasons were just okay for a high 1st round draft pick but his QB situation was also hot garbage. QB play was better this year and he played like a bonafide WR1.

He was weighed at the combine at 219 officially. If you are getting that 4.6 number from his pro day he was also measured in the 4.4s by different scouts. Regardless he is the same build and speed currently as Tee and Drake if you want to run with the 4.6.

and like bryce he sat out the workouts.  You have to question the guys that have reservations about their size that show up at the combine magically weighing more and then not doing poo

However I am on record the 40 time is not important, if he can get off the line he should produce, if he struggles with physical corners it may take a minute to get him up to speed

Its just time to accept that top 10 type prospects are highly unlikely to workout at the Combine. It has very much become the norm. I don't like it either but it is what it is. The days of seeing the Cam Newtons and Julius Peppers doing the full battery of workouts like the old days are over.

Weighing more than what?  His weight seems to be what was expected aside from a random Huddler on here claiming he has the frame of someone in high school?  He didn't magically weigh more....  6'4" and 219 is still a slim frame but again he is a WR so it doesn't matter as much (see Higgins and London).  Bryce's situation was different because there were genuine concerns about his size.

@LinvilleGorge already hit the nail on the head.  None of the top guys are doing combine workouts and it's not some conspiracy about them adding weight.

Tet maybe, bryce absolutely not.   That was the entire thing leading up to the combine was his size

Back to Bryce lol.  I agree.  I said "Bryce's situation was different because there were genuine concerns about his size."  I'm just saying I doubt Tet did this as well like you suggested as there wasn't really a need to.

Who is questioning Tmacs size outside of the huddle size kings?

It’s such a bizarre thought that teams would be fooled by some fake or artificial weight at the combine while rando internet detectives on a message board know the real truth.

People have called the combine useless for years. Players have been skipping it for years. Basically the whole top 10 skipped it this year. But the moment the Panthers drafted Bryce Young it became uber important to some of you.

didn't he run like a 4.52?

Think the "official time" put out was 4.48, but there were a lot of scouts there who of course all had difference times as it's all handed timed by them.  Think I saw it as low as 4.43 and as high as 4.62 or something, but in the end it's all basically the same speed because 40 yard dash is so pointless.

Anyone who complains about his speed is just someone who wants a Chase/Jefferson/Nabers style #1 as opposed to an Evans style #1 who isn't going to beat you because of his speed but his other abilities.

In the end, he's fast enough for a player his size and surprisingly quicker and more agile than people give him credit for too.

The real problem is that Panthers fans can't get our past big WR failures out of their head, they hear "big WR" and automatically see a plodding KB or Jarrett in their minds and assume that's also T-Mac.

We don't have to lie, 4.8 was official and there were scouts who had him in the 4.54 to 4.57 range

What?  Who's lying?

And 4.8 official?!?!  what now?!?!

First search result brings up this article that says the 4.48 I noted...

While another search result brings up this tweet that shows some scouts had him as low as 4.46 (so sure, I didn't remember the low end correctly when I said 4.43, but I wouldn't say that was "lying"), and I also noted how some scouts even had him a shade over 4.6 anyways, which these first two searches don't also say, but thought I read that at the time

The 4.8 was supposed to be 4.48, was a mistype
