I don't really care about your post at all. I just saw the direction of the discussion and this snippet from an article I read earlier in the day was a good spot to put non-Panthers info.

I mostly don't care about the players personal lives. That's off the field/personal poo. Not really any of my business.

I also don't know him personally so what would be the point of congratulating him outside basically attempting to draw attention to myself like so many in the social media/internet realm.

I could make a strong argument that everyone who posts pretty much anything on social media is trying to draw some type of attention, but whatever, it's not that important. I'm sure that if he does see posts of congratulations that he appreciates it.

Yeah, I don't post on social media, so I would guess that is largely true.

Regardless of how he felt or they felt the guy gave us quite a few years of high light reels.

Was just happy to see him start a family didn't mean to start a fuss or bad feelings.  Was watching our high lite reels on NFL channel was last years.  Sure had forgotten about Jewel the line LB I guess but he sure was all over place in last few games.

In general, It's just unfortunate that he got hurt. But...I'd argue that all's well that ends well; the Panthers are in a better place in regards to the RB room, and, not only has CMC had the opportunity to almost win his team a championship in overtime of the Super Bowl, he's playing for a franchise known for solidity if not historical excellence.

You won't find it. I listened to her interview and followed all that stuff. His attitude didn't begin changing until the very end, and that was because he perceived that the Panthers FO was putting him through unnecessary b.s. and basically lied to him. Some Huddlers just are trying to spin it (much like they did with Pep). McCaffrey bought a house and was planning to stay with the Panthers for the long term based upon Scott Fitterer's word...and then when the Panthers started changing their tune and stonewalling him to a degree, his attitude changed in the eleventh hour due to being jerked around. If he hates anything, it was the way that the FO treated him.

CMC even said he was surprised that he was actually traded but the huddle huddles and most people read one thread and believe everything they read.

Lotta love for a player that quit on the Panthers

Case in point. Unbelievable how consistently the made up BS continues to swirl back around.

GMs liked IRing players as soon as we were no longer in contention. Cam sat the last couple weeks in 2016 but no one says he quit. I remember CMC’s last game against Miami. He didn’t even look hurt during the game but we were out of it and we benched him again. Especially at a position like RB, no need to risk injury. Clearly. Fitterer saw him as trade bait the next season so of course they won’t risk him going for last place.

I don't know. CMC is like others and may have lip serviced that line of " I had no plan or wanted to leave Carolina" I think he even said he bought a house too and wanted this to be home.

Here's what I heard- In a way Panthers org gave him a test and he didn't "fight" back. They approached CMC and told him they wanted to put him on IR since the "season" was over or out of playoff reach. CMC didn't fight it one lick and agreed. They secretly wanted him to kept playing or want to, but there was no kickback. I honestly don't know if its real or not, 5th hand information type deal doing on. Yes he had bruises and pains, but was able to play...... but went along with Panthers staff. Odd to be playing games with star players, but whatever....

Plus the staff doctors found out about his tendinitis and there was nothing to fix it. Even with him missing time, it was the best move to trade him before he got inflamed constantly.

Lastly, its mostly time a combo of stuff, Fitterererere did not sign him to be the highest paid RB. That was classic Marty "give me a" herniay doing. GMs have different values on roster spots and rumor was Fitterererer was one that didn't want to pay RBs. For all his faults, he's right about that......

In my opinion Fitterer was probably right about not paying McCaffrey. Now not wanting to "pay RBs" in my opinion isn't something you want to set in stone, to me it all comes down to the individual.

I won't be angry at any professional athlete for not wanting to damage their bodies for a non competitive team.

TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly.

Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.

Yeah anyone who watched him play knows he's competitive. Doesn't mean he wasn't eventually annoyed with the losing situation and didn't put up a fight over being held out which didn't help matters. I don’t necessarily blame him. But the team did back up a brinks truck for his services so it's a two way street.

Just for clarification. That is@TrevorLaurenceTime22 who once upon a time quit the huddle when McCaffrey was traded. Christian McCaffrey could piss on his head and he'd still compliment him.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
