I’m worried SC’s lack of OL is going to prevent Sellers from taking the next steps progressing as a passer.

The conversation I had to have with my Gamecocks-affiliated family members last night when they asked what kind of adjustments were going to be made to help with protection was not received well... especially when propped up by the events of Super Bowl 50. 😭

Yeah my dad was a big SC fan so I like to see them do well. Shula with a mobile QB equals watch the QB try to play hero ball. We have all seen it here…

What a great week of football.  The ACC is going to be a tougher out for teams than last year and I’m glad to see that though I was really hoping for a better record against the SEC rather than a but Clemson sh!t the bed.  Miami found a D and the offense can still score points, they are going to be dangerous.  People can say what they want about Alabama sucking this year but they are still one of the most talented teams in the country with 5 star players all over the field and FSU ran all over them.  Clemson will bounce back for sure, Duke has a legit QB but no defense, last years Miami?  GT has a tank at QB, they are going to give teams fits and there are more teams worth mentioning but fudge all that typing.  If Carolina can look good tonight, I’ll be feeling really good about ACC football this year!

Side Note:  Coastal is going to suck again under Tim Beck

The ACC is probably going to cease to exist within the next 3-4 years. Enjoy the final years.

I really think eventually it will be more of Premier League setup, and in many ways it is already moving to that with the possible playoff expansion and the framework that has been bantered around. Honestly, do conferences even matter anymore? Does the NCAA even matter anymore. There have been fundamental changes now that really seem to make both of those things a bit redundant and needless now.

Thats the timeline Dabo has been out there talking of.  Handful of ACC team will go to whatever mega conference there is.  He thinks 30-50 total teams

and that will be the end of college football.  Everything that made it good at least

Most things that made it good are already dead, imo. The transfer portal combined with the money makes it all a complete joke. There’s no longer any sense of school pride, at least for me. If my team does well it is in large part because they paid better guys than the next team. When I went to college, I had some basketball players living in the same apartments and they’d show up to parties sometimes. You’d see guys around and they were just normal broke college kids like you. There was comraderie and pride that these guys saw the same school you loved and wanted to be there just like you. All of that is gone. It’s pro sports now, but worse. The players aren’t there long enough to feel like you know the team. No connection, just bragging rights over who has the largest and most affluent donor base.

Its worse because the NFL would never allow all the teams to join the NFC East or something.  There's a firm divisional structure with a salary cap to make it competitive.

I think there is a bit of a dead feeling because some of the players are essentially mercenaries these days. You can't really fault them for it though, as these schools raked in money hand over fist because of the success of the teams. On top of that, SMU and the Pony Express was not the only example of players being paid to play, they were just the ones that got caught, so at least it is out in the open now.

True and as a Clemson fan I’m really not living in present day college football like most.  So I’m still getting a bigger slice of the way it was than your average college football fan.   We still tuning in to watch year 4 of the of the guys that have been on the roster and watching the same kids year after year.

to an extent, Clemson is as good as it gets as a college football fan.  But that’s just today.  Will it keep us from another natty? Probably, but we got about 3-5 more years of sorta watching college football as I like it.

Would our odds of winning a natty be stronger if we just hired the top merc at RB for this year and whatnot? Sure. That was THE spot to fix.  But I’ll just enjoy moaning about our longtime WR converted to RB and which freshman can grow into it as this, they way it is ride is almost over
