So now what.....

If Championship Games shouldn't hurt your ranking, Ohio State should still be #1 tomorrow, right?

If you drop Ohio State tomorrow for losing as close a game as possible, then you have to drop Alabama as well for getting blown out.

If you don't drop Alabama tomorrow, then you can't drop Ohio State.

If you drop them both, Alabama lost @ Florida State, Miami won @ Florida State, Miami should be in.

I love that literally no matter what the CFP does tomorrow, they are completely f*cked, and you can easily punch holes in ANY rankings they put out.  Bunch of clowns, deserve to be blasted.

Just change on the fly to 16 teams. Duke Miami vandy all get in. Last spot to Texas or byu. Hell make byu Texas a play in. Who gives a fug

I love all the haters, Duke played the schedule given, win the tie breaker agreed upon by all schools then won the game!  Don’t hate appreciate!  It’s better than Clemsux winning it…again

Who's hating on duke? We're just laughing at the ACC.

Yeah, I mean all the crybabies like Miami didn't win the games necessary to even be in the same position as Duke and UVa.

It wasn't the ACC that was laughable. It was their supposed "strong" teams that became a laughingstock. Miami, SMU, FSU, Clemson, etc.

He's probably referring to the people online mad that Duke was in it instead of Miami.

I mean, Miami's the best team in the ACC regardless of tonight's result. But the programs agreed to this set of rules and tiebreakers in advance, the system ended up in Duke's favor and they won a tough game against a favored opponent (by bookmakers and the conference) to win their first ACC title since The Simpsons premiered.

ACC stupidity aside, shout out to Indiana. Everyone thought last year was just one magical run and they turn around and do even better this year.

Just shows that hiring the right coach and getting boosters motivated can work for any team.

With what's going on with the ACC and Alabama possibly getting left out, what's going to happen is that conference championship games will be eliminated, even if the playoff moves to 16 teams. SEC giveth, SEC taketh.

Yeah, the tie breakers are what they are. Duke's non-conference losses don't matter in terms of the conference schedule.

Sorry your adopted team is a 20 + year disappointment.

Getting left out in favor of less-deserving Alabama is an honor bestowed upon a new team every year.

Miami should take pride in back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time in decades. As long as this doesn't cripple their program like it did FSU, they should be able to go for another one next year.

And, being someone who also likes to see Miami do well but knows its penchant for horribly timed losses, there's a great chance they don't find a way to beat UVa or Duke last night regardless of the matchup on paper.

Ok, so who is crowned the Conference Champion then?

'Cos schedules are completely unbalanced - as evidenced by this ACC CG (and fuging Alabama making the SEC game).

I understand that you are a Miami fan and want the Canes to get into the playoffs, but why should Bama, who finished the SEC with a 7-1 conference record not have been in the SECCG?

Bama’s schedule was not unbalanced amongst SEC teams, at least not in Bama’s favor. Bama played Georgia, Vandy, Missouri, Tennessee, LSU, and Oklahoma, in addition to South Carolina and Auburn, in conference this year.

The first four were in back-to-back-to-back-to-back weeks. LSU and Oklahoma were also back-to-back weeks with each of those opponents coming off a bye week the week before playing Bama.

What else should they have done to be in the SECCG? Add Texas, coming off a bye, to a back-to back-to-back-to-back stretch of LSU-OU-Texas-Auburn?

I get that Bama got a ton of credit for being Bama during Saban’s run. Hell, they earned it and proved themselves to be among the top teams pretty much every time they got into the BCS/playoffs.

Do they deserve to be in the playoffs this year? I don’t know. It depends on how you think conference championship games should factor in. An extra game against a top ranked opponent provides an extra opportunity for a loss when other teams aren’t playing in that extra game.

The committee has already established the precedent that conference championship losses don’t affect things too much (SMU last year). I agree with that. It should affect overall seeding (IU as #1 with their win against OSU), but I’m not sure it should be used to the detriment of teams who make it those games. That’s such a crappy “reward” for making it to your conference’s championship game. Had someone else won the tiebreaker over Bama, Bama would be on right now.

INB4 that clown says "BuT, BuT, BuT, wE bEaT fSu. VeRy QuAlItY wIn!!! ThEy LoSt!!!"

Despite the fact that Miami would get drug by just about every non-G5 opponent in this playoffs, including Alabama.

This is just FSU crybaby poo 2.0, minus the actual logic of being undefeated. You don't get bonus points for losing games you should have won against vs. Louisville and SMU.
