I think the 7 straight losing seasons, the campaign to reduce fan interest during training camp and the lightspeed stupid decision to start charging for Fan Fest took a toll.

Yeah the shutting off training camp to fans just a year or two after Tepper basically called all fans basement dwellers for calling him out for fuging the team up lol. A losing team should be trying to attract new fans and not ridicule or squander the existing ones

I will never get the Dan Snyder comparison. David Tepper has angered a lot of fans with purely business moves, for sure, and he's come off as somewhat of an asshole at times, but I don't see him as being a bad person at his core. I think that he's misunderstood, came in thinking that he knew best because of being a successful business man, takes things perhaps a little too personally regarding his team at times, but at the end of the day has done everything he has done out of a desire to win.

I get being upset at Tepper. Fans are angry about his business decisions that have indirectly affected football operations. They are angry at his football decisions. Fans are mainly mad at him due to losing when you get right down to it. Snyder was really on another level. I may get some flack, but in some respects, Jerry Richardson was closer to Snyder than Tepper ever was. The sexual harassment if not outright impropriety. The racist sentiment. The toxic workplace. We have heard none of that during Tepper's tenure. Snyder was also "playing" with NFL money, so there's that.

From a purely football perspective, he was a bad owner, but that's the only real comparison to Snyder, but I still believe that Tepper is going to turn that around even if many don't. It's been said here that there is "zero evidence" of change on Tepper's part, but that's just not true. If Morgan can see it, and guys like Pat McAfee, among others, can see it from afar, as well as report on it from other insiders, then it's pretty obvious that change is afoot.

At the end of the day, at least in my opinion, if being a shitty owner based upon bad management  and having a big ego because you're a successful business man is the major comparison to Dan Snyder, then Tepper is not special.

Okay. I haven't been in years so I was under the assumption it was new. I didn't realize it was a decade old.

I knew it had been around quite a while, plus the money goes to charity, and it's five dollars either way. It makes far more sense to take your family to Fan Fest for $15 and see the team, instead of spending $300 on tickets to see a 31-9 loss.

He is a meddling idiot and has been a notorious asshole(far worse than Snyder in that regard).

I mean, remember the episode of him literally intentionally mispronouncing Reich's last name to belittle him(something he did in his regular career). The early behind the scenes is already considerably worse than Snyder's early tenure(scumbag private business fortune, glorified fantasy sports owner). Now, it's quite the leap to end up where Snyder did ultimately.

I don't have any doubts that he can hit that, as a guy that berates local business owners for signs and also gropes his wife on stage so everyone can see(people forget this for some reason).

So, by all accounts he is a terrible owner and person. Doesn't mean he hasn't improved over Richardson in some regards, to be sure.

But, as of yet, I haven't seen any discernable evidence that he is either a better person than Jerry and he has been a demonstrably worse football owner than Jerry.

If debating on whether or not David Tepper has met or exceeded the Dan Snyder standard is where we're at then his reputation as an owner is already established and confirmed. But he's wildly wealthy so he doesn’t give a damn regardless. He doesn’t need anyone wasting keystrokes trying to humanize him. He isn't going anywhere and if he does then that just means we're stuck with Nicole. Chuckle and keep walking folks.

Come on, man. A little play with his wife in public is not porno. It certainly could be considered low class, especially for those that are uptight, but who is going to really use that as indicative of being a "bad" person?  "Berate local owners?" That's hyperbole at best. Tepper got a little "pissed" about the sign that referred to him being a meddling owner in 2023 per the restaurant owner, but the owner didn't say Tepper "berated" him or his business. The same restaurant put out a different message (on the same sign) in 2024 about letting the coach and GM pick. Tepper visited and asked about the sign, as well as removed the manager's Eagles cap from his head (you can see it all on video), but this was entirely lighthearted. Tepper even shook the man's hand. The owner said that Tepper is welcome back any time he likes.

And then there's that phrase, "by all accounts," Tepper is a terrible owner and person. No, by your account. Fans want the Panthers to win, for sure. Has he been a bad owner? I guess if you look at a lot of his moves in regards to football. Is he trying to change his mismanagement? He is. I don't think everyone thinks that Tepper is a "horrible" person. He's an imperfect man that is perhaps hot-headed and inappropriate at times, but that doesn't rise to the level of "scumbag."

Listen, you can worship at the altar of Tepper if you wish but you will eventually come to see he is a false god.

He is a scumbag. You don't become a multi-billionaire hedge fund manager without being a scumbag. If you ever had any access to people like this, you would know this without any shred of a doubt.

Bryce threw an absolute perfect pass on a rope from 45 yards out to the end zone and XL dropped it.  It may have been PI but I still think he must get better at reeling those in this year.

Yeah, and I JUST said in another thread that I hadn't heard anything about him dropping passes, SMH. I'm apparently reading threads in the wrong order, lol. That definitely looked like PI to me BTW.

Fanfest was fun, there is an enthusiasm back in the fan base this year even David dumb dumb Newton said it was the busiest fanfest he’d seen in years.

Lots of people posting on Twitter stuff and what not. “The future is now old man” when it comes to where Panther content is viewed.

Charging for fanfest started in 2017.

    • If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.
    • Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
    • it's not so much this personal vendetta against the Carolina Panthers as it is more about Bryce Young never not once been in the same conversation with the top 15 or even top 20 Qbs in the NFL ..just saying
