That Basbear guy is gonna stroke out. LOL

Normally he's been pretty solidly logical on most things. I guess everybody has their moments though. We're all human.

For myself I'm glad to have Coker. I think he's got a bright future ahead of him. But. I'm also a Panthers fan. And I've seen the likes of Ian Thomas and Terrace Marshall Jr shine in camp so I'm also going to withhold celebrating just yet. First two games of the season are on the road. That will tell us unequivocally where we're at.

Funny. Im not a big fan but Tim Donnelly said a few days ago to expect  glowing reports about Coker this week. Its been a weekly rotation going through the receivers in regards to media attention.

I hope Coker wins SBMVP for the Panthers, Im a big fan and just understand roster numbers, needs, and cap.

If you understand cap I have no idea why you were crashing out to trade Coker on the dirt cheapest of NFL contracts for a LB on an expiring contract who the 2nd worst defense in the league chose to not pick up his 5th year option on. That makes no sense from a cap management perspective.

Lloyd would only add 1.6 to the cap, that's awful small on the scale and Panthers have plenty of room to do so.

Im no PFffffft guy, Lloyd was rated as top 15 overall LB in 2023 AND 2024. (Panthers *seem* to be heavy into PFF models/grades/whatever's)

Simple terms Panthers have extra WR and huge hole at MLB.

Your 2nd worst comments, come on LG...Ive known you since the scout.com days. JC Horn was on the worst defense last year and played 15-16 games, is he trash because of that? You know the answer.

I have no clue, why jags do jags stuff. Im not going to even try to piss up that rope. They drafted 2 LBs in this years draft and before that they had great depth and starters. Like the Panthers WR room, there's not enough chairs for all the NFL level ones. Rather than cut a player or two and get nothing, flip them to a team instead. Believe it of not player for player trades have been trending up in recent years, especially with the 5th/6th for 7th inclusion...

We have virtually no proven production at WR outside of over the hill Thielen and a young QB we've mortgaged the franchise on. I'm not moving any promising young WRs on cheap contracts for a bandaid LB on an expiring contract that we'll have to pay to keep if he plays well. The math don't math.

Coker has actually produced in real games. Marshall and Thomas never did.

True. But at this point the collective offensive group outside of Chuba has to prove the second half of last season is the norm going forward and not a flash in the pan.

A good WR is infinitely more valuable than a JAG MLB. Even if they were of equal skill, positional value has WR exceptionally ahead.

I agree, the overall 2025 value scale is WR >>>> MLB. Big difference.

Like many "message" board trade deals, its a tough balance. Lloyd was also a late 1st rounder and Coker was UDFA, that's a issue as well.

I don't know how the current Brad/Dan/Evero/PFFFfff/Panthers leadership view the MLB role on a NFL roster. They made one switch recently for a LB, still looking at the current group. They are giving the impression that street FAs are enough for the job......

Panthers made Horn the highest paid DB...can't really use that as a comparison

I think that largely depends on play calling, and Theilen being available. The Panthers need a guy who can carve up a defense and it showed last year when Adam was in versus when he was out. I still think we should have taken Matthew Golden instead of King Tet but we're here now. Gotta make lemonade.

    • I am gonna believe it wasn’t us if the 4th round pick price is accurate. We needed 225 points to get from 19 to their pick. 875 at 19 to 1100 at 14.  Our 2026 4th was valued at 56 points I think. A future 4th has less value. So that wasn’t close to enough.    It would have taken our third and our fourth. Comes within a point of even.    Now, moving to their spot in the second round we could have done but after Miami took Rodriguez why would we?
    • Yep,and Blake Miller have had more experiences than Freeling,Lions did not sigh a vet T like Walker,so they had to pick Miller.
    • I mean it's expected.  This is the NBA.  And they hate the Charlotte Hornets.  Flagg was also the guy "magically" given to the Mavs who lost Luca to the wildly popular Lakers.  Was always an uphill battle.  But the award is BS since it's not voted on before play-in starts. Kon probably lost because of the play-in as many people switched votes.  It was a regular season award, so this is some nonsense.  Kon also didn't have the luxury of taking 10 games off to rest up injuries like Flagg did.  If he did, he wouldn't have been nursing his back the last month.  I mean, screw him for being on an actual playoff team that matters.  Flagg took tons of shots a game, he was wildly inefficient.  Kon was a huge reason the Hornets made the play-in and turned the season around after Jan.   I think Flagg will probably be the better player long term, or at least the most impact.  But Kon should have won ROTY.
