I don't either. If the penalty had been on the offense then the outcome is different. Hard to know what's a penalty half the time in the NFL, much less risk a bad throw on being certain of what a flag is going to be.

I mean the penalty and the flag both happened RIGHT in front of him, he saw both seeing as it was his outlet getting dragged/held.

I’ve been a Panthers fan long enough to know no matter how obvious it looks, the refs can always find a way to screw us. I’m not losing any sleep over it, but if we’re nitpicking I’d say from my perspective that one might feel better as a throw away. Then again, I also understand swinging for the fences if you think there’s no risk. I’d be curious what conversations the coaches and Bryce have about that one behind closed doors, though I’m sure we’ll never know considering how inconsequential it is.

Its also the pre season there is literally no risk because the game doesn't count.

Again you go to comparing QBs which I said more than once wasn't what I was doing with that analogy. I'll type it out again but I don't really know how much clearer I can type it it's already in black and white, but here it goes.

Preseason Success/Failure is not an indicator of Regular season success. There are many examples I could have used. Considering we are on a Panthers forum and I'm supposedly talking to a Panthers fan why wouldn't I bring up Cam's preseason and the VERY suspect passing offense we saw in those games vs What we saw to start the regular season in 2011. It was a night and day difference.

Last year we saw this offense put together scoring drives in the preseason albeit VERY limited action, much like this year. We were terrible to start the year on offense last year so seeing those drives didn't make much of a difference did it?

You said you weren't happy with the Bills drive I asked you to explain what was wrong with it? Moved the ball down the field with accurate and decisive throws, maybe a little happy feet at times but overall it was a drive you wanted to see from this young team absolutely.

After all that I know I'm talking to a brick wall but I needed to kill some time on a Monday. Try and not to be so miserable today Frank. There's more to life than preseason football.

I'm done with this thread no one here is going to give an inch regardless no matter how many paragraphs we lob at one another.

Plus I've already received a warning  but others are allowed to openly call people asshole and spam reactions day and night like a lunatic. I'll be eager to revisit this place later in the fall to see how toxic it is. I can guess it will be a shitshow. Not a matter of if. Only when. Peace.

I saw a lot of your posts got deleted that were calling people snowflakes and not relevant to the thread. Point being, appreciate your insight but try to not derail every single thread

Great catch! I completely missed that by Hunt afterwards and after looking at what you had pointed out that ILB looks like he came downhill in a hurry and Hunt should've come off of his block sooner. That would have allowed Chuba to have taken the cutback for a greater gain (or at least, less traffic to deal with).

Would have also made Icky's block being a shed a non-factor.

Plays like this and all of these little mistakes that we see kicking us in the dick is also giving me hope because it's just a liiiiiittle more development (plus a liiiiiittle bit more luck) away from the bounces going the Panthers' way.

I feel better about the personnel now. Not sure about the pass rush, but there's potential when all the horses are in the race. The past couple of years have felt like we just didn't have NFL average at too many positions. Games like this highlight how young this team is. For instance, this receiving group has a lot of potential but they aren't as good as they're being hyped up to be - not yet anyway.

Just to be clear. Last year around this time I made it a point to dip out for a few months and in that time threads still got derailed left and right and people were still going hard at each other over the same disputes. As CRA said this place actually used to be way worse back when Jake was playing and certainly Cam. People used to get irate at Delhomme and damn near call for his head literally. There are a lot of short memories or people who weren't actually around to see it. But the huddle will huddle because like it or not the Panthers will always revert to what they've been more often than not sooner or later. Even when we have hall of fame talent. To quote John Fox. It is what it is.

You know you're absolutely right!

And I'd add that it would be boring if everyone here was always in agreement and all kumbaya all the time. I for one appreciate differing opinions. Just don't really like when I see guys/gals making stuff up with such definitive language. Sends a different message.

Buddy you're preaching to the choir. Igo banned me from posting in this forum during Rhules first year as HC. I was so pissed with the way they did Cam and how his career ultimately ended with the decisions that were made while we wallow away in mediocrity (honestly I would have taken mediocrity, it's definitely been more of a shitshow)

Everyone on this board knows who you are and your views of the current situation. You've made them known repeatedly. You just gotta back off a little bit and let the cards fall where they may. Hopefully you and a lot of us will walk away from this season with hope for the future. I think our offense will be solid at some point. Might take a few games to get everything gelling (Could argue more preseason reps would have been a good thing) it CANNOT take them 1.5 months into the season to have a game resembling an NFL offense though. I'm truly worried about our defense I'm afraid we didn't really upgrade much at all. Just swapped a bunch of rookies and JAGs for more rookies and JAGs but I hope I'm wrong as should you!

Believe me I fully understand where you are coming from about the way we unceremoniously discarded Cam Newton and Matt Rhule's BS. I took that to heart. But I also learned from that never to get too invested in one player even if they might be built like a peak specimen and phsyically talented off the charts the likes of which few have ever seen. Everybody gets older everybody gets hurt sooner or later. Harsh reality.

I am in complete agreement with you. Right now what matters more than anything is that Canales is the right guy. If we nailed that hire other things will fall into place even if we end up having to swing on a QB again. But Dave cannot keep having his football team show up to the field looking like the Little Giants. Like you said we just have to hope for the best right now and it let play out. Everything will be revealed this season good bad or ugly. Good luck to you.
