Yall are a trip,

Offensive tackles aren't ancient at 31, in fact a 2 year deal for a 31 year old tackle its perfect lol.

Dude is still a top third tackle.

The avg age of linemen is 26.  He is 31 with knees that have to be managed.  He is under contract for this year.  Why in the holy fug would you just let this play out and see what happens in the offseason.  And dont give me "he should be rewarded for being our best lineman" thats not how the nfl works like at all

Just a reminder, straight from the horse's mouth...

“It’s chronic stuff. Most linemen deal with it," Moton said of his knee. "But it’s just figuring out what we can do to make sure it’s limited and I’m still able to explode off it, which right now I can and I feel like I can in the future."

So yeah, we're re-upping a guy on the other side of 30 who himself admits that he's dealing with chronic knee issues.

There are a grand total of 14 OTs on NFL rosters over the age of 32.

This is in fact not the flex you think it is..... especially when you consider the names basically every tackle 32 and up has had a consistent career to Moton.... its the GOOD ones that keep playing.  Of those 14 eight were pro bowlers or all pro last year.

(Moton also turned 31 like 4 days ago)

Yeah, I guess these aren't serious issues. I mean....we better hope they aren't.

I think the confusion revolves around the rumors his knees were in bad shape. If that IS the case, this is a bad idea because he very well could be close to the end of his career.

If that is all BS and he isn't having chronic issues, it's great to have our best OL since Kalil retired back.

Until its more than rumor/conjecture on a message board im good.

Its not like he got a five year extension (Looking at you Jake) this seems like a calculated move to get exactly the amount of use left out of his career imo.

How many of them are dealing with chronic knee issues that have to be managed?

I just don't understand extending him when he was already under contract for this season. Why not see how his knees hold up? He's been an iron man throughout his career but finally kissed some games last year due to knee pain that according to him is due to chronic issues. You know what doesn't improve with age and continuing to play football? Chronic knee issues.
