Got Renfrow for comeback player of the year. Please trade AT and make Renfrow the starting slot wr

On one hand, Renfrow being out for as long as he has makes me question whether or not he can take on a full season. AT is older, but might have more in the gas tank than Renfrow does currently.

On the other, Jalen Coker and Jimmy Horn Jr can both rotate in as the slot for Renfrow.

It's a nice position to be in where the Panthers maintain all of the leverage.

In my ideal scenario, you are working Tmac, XL, and Coker all through the slot at times.  Not limiting it to Renfrow.  Renfrow shouldn't take ATs role because neither need that volume of snaps.  Easier for everyone to get open in the slot.  Especially youngsters.  Renfrow should just be the one running the stereotypical slot routes when needed.

I think Horn is a next year player

He’s a lot younger. Less wear and tear. If Thielen leaves, I think he’s a dark horse candidate for Comeback Player of the Year.

Aaaah. I gotcha.

I mean, he is probably way, way, WAAAAY behind our best candidate which would be D. Brown. He is an actual starter and impact player.

If anyone on our team has a real shot, it's him.

Yea but you don't win anything betting on the thing likely to happen.  Normally you don't win anything either way, but you get to stare at that potential payout until it loses.

It does typically favor offensive players, IIRC. Curious what Brown's odds are, though.

    • I mean, I think you're being a little hyperbolic with the last statement, but point taken.
    • Pass rush was the biggest issue in tonight’s game, and we were tied for 28th in sacks this season. That is a major area of need that has to get addressed this offseason. I just don’t see a path where there’s a game changing QB you can bring in with where we are drafting and quality of veterans that will be available. We certainly can do better than Dalton as a backup, and should ideally have a developmental guy  (perhaps a day 3 pick this year). We have bryce for one more year on a reasonable contract and then I think 2027 is the year that you reset that position (unless he massively improves).
    • Agreed, honestly basically bringing this group back as a healthy unit would be alright.  Brady Christensen should be resigned to a very reasonable deal with him recovering from the Achilles.  Atleast we're alright at 4 of our 5 spots with Lewis, Mays, Hunt, and Moton, Nijman was decent.  While if we can snag a deal on someone, take a stab, however our resources need to go to Linebacker, Pass Rush and a real option outside Tmac (coker is amazing, but if we can get someone who isnt braindead opposite Tmac, we can fully unleash Coker AND Tmacs full potential, cant move him into the slot if racoon boy is out there licking doorknobs).
