AT isn’t morphing through a defender on an under-throw.  I’m sure you can find examples where he didn’t.  His hands aren’t so good he defeats an instant helmet on the ball before time to secure it.   I’m sure you can examples of where he didn’t do that either.

there is some Bryce apologizing going on because you are now painting a picture WRs let him down today.

You can’t be serious rn. Yes the receivers let him down, did you even watch the game? Bryce played horrible, the WRs outside of TMac played horrible, the LBs player horrible, coaching was horrible. The difference between me and you is you want to pin everything on one player. EVERYTHING. IS. BAD.

No sir,  didn’t question his hands in a single post.  Ever.  And I knock AT a lot.  You won find a post on the huddle where I knock his hands.

What you just did was find a stat about Adam’s play.  Which is something totally different.

the stat I was referencing was Bryce throwing to AT and the end result of that.  Which is going to factor in more than AT’s play.  Bryce becomes factored.   His bad throws, balls, etc

Fair. But I do agree with him, likely AT catches at least one if not both of those balls. For a couple of reasons, probably get better separation, averaged 3 yds in 2024 and 2.9 yds in 2023 versus the 1.79 yds in the game today for Hunter. Additionally, AT is a physically far larger and has a significant catch radius advantage over Renfrow.

That's not to say that Bryce still didn't miss those throws but those bigger guys do help alleviate some of those mistakes just because of those type of advantages. You said yourself, we are having him basically attempt to be an AT clone when he just simply isn’t.

You'll get no argument out of me regarding your disappointment in Legette. But there's no need to be dishonest with one another about Thielen. And no matter what he said about Bryce publicly on his way out he made it crystal clear he wanted to play with a rookie QB in McCarthy very badly.

I very much doubt it had anything to do with JJ. Moreso that his wife and he wanted to be back in Minny. Plus, I have no doubt he wanted to leave the game on a contending team, at least.

This wasn’t already clear as day after last season?

Even the clips the team put out this year he still wasn’t catching the ball correctly or staying on his feet to do.

He’s not going to make anyone miss. He’s not going to run anyone over. He catches the ball in a way he fights the ball in the whole way that he makes it impossible to pick up YAC. He must’ve even finished with negative YAC today after that one catch where he lost like 4 yards after

This is yet another instance where we were right yet again. DON'T TRADE UP FOR A FUGGIN WR THAT DIDN'T BREAKOUT UNTIL YEAR 5!! The red flags were there, just like the red flags were there with Bryce if ANYBODY watched his game gainst LSU. These motherfuggers get paid millions to scout, yet we would be better off had they just let us take over the draft. At least we wouldn't pick long snappers over Trey Smith (who everybody was clamoring for on the huddle to take a chance on him), or DJ fuggin Johnson, or Legette when McConkey was the more proven WR in college and it showed in the tape, or a a fuggin 5'9 QB over CJ Stroud who sliced through a historically elite defense in Georgia TWICE.

The fact that we don't attempt to scheme him anything open in space regularly(Debo-esque, say) let's me know they also don't think he is capable of that.

Coker can't get back soon enough.

This is well said. It like his chest (since he doesn’t use his hands) is negative polarity and the ball is positive. I’ve seen RBs like this that aren’t comfortable catching, but it’s bizarre for a WR.

Yeah but then you are changing too many variables and re-creating more than I was doing.   Now you are envisioning different separation, positioning, routes, etc.

but 100%, they just inserted Renfrow into ATs job.   Which isn’t how you use Renfrow.   His routes really aren’t in the Canales O.  Well, maybe the one where he got Bryce’s INT wiped was an example but they weren’t looking there.

He was talking up JJ in early June. Seeing how his former QB played today solidified one of the key reasons why he wanted out. It wasn't the only reason. But the man wasn't blind either no matter what he said publicly in support of a friend.

Yeah, I am not knocking Renfrow. I think his ceiling is fairly low even in a better situation. He has a lot of rust to knock off to even see if he has anything left in the tank. TBQH, the fact that it was just "us or bust" kind of let's me know that competitive just really isn't there like maybe it once was. Oh well, still better than Legette and some of these other rostered bums.

Did he? I don't recall that. Link?

Why would he be friends with JJ? They never played on the same team.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
