He mainly screwed up when he threw it past the line of scrimmage, so I think we will see less of that next week.

Canales wants to run 25-30 times and get chuck plays off play action to protect his QB. Think early Russell Wilson in Seattle under Carroll (Canales was on that staff)

Just watched PFF Grade Show segment on us

  • They pooed on Legette ALOT
  • Also, pooed on Canales & play calling
  • In addition, pooed on Trevin Wallace
  • Mentioned we need more help on offense 
  • Then basically said they're rooting for Bryce like last year (mentioned nothing about their high grade of him)

PFF awards BY a high grade than Trevor. 

Trevor meanwhile had less turnovers, more passing yards, better comp %, better QBR, better QB rating, and his team won. 

Was Trevor great? Nah.  He was pretty mid.  But I'm glad week 1 is really highlighting the fictional gobble goo that PFF looses itself in. 

All those folks living and dying by the PFF arguments about Bryce Young last year......need to pay attention to what PFF is doing right now.  Because this is basically a variation of what PFF was doing w/ Bryce last year.  Just gaslighting folks on Bryce.

It's wild three years and many poor or awful starts later and a 6-25 record and there are still folks blaming everyone and everything around him and "rooting" for poor Bryce Young to overcome all these circumstances that aren't his fault. It could never be that he is part of the problem. Crazy.

      Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.

      I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
