Does Canalas trust Bryce?

Recommended Posts

I don't really care at this point. DC didn't bring poo but Dalton and Hooker. He didn't drsft Young but absolutely signed up to be tied to him. He can spin it however he wants but those are facts. Maybe he will learn from this and stop making poor decisions...if he gets another shot after this mess. He could go back to being stuck as a QB coach if it keeps up the pace.

Why would he? What has Bryce done on the field to gain trust? Even if he did a great job in the off-season and through camp he has now gone out there on the field in a game that matters and looked like absolute dog poo. Again. That has happened over and over again during his brief career. How can you have trust in a guy that does that? Ultimately trust has to be earned and I can't see what Bryce has done on the field in games that matter to earn it.

He's totally going to get another year or two here with his own QB. 100% going to happen.

I’m in no way defending Canalas. I think he sucks. But hearing him talk, does he trust young to execute the playbook?

Canales wants that vertical ball and BY just can't do it in the realm of what Canales wants.  You can beat your DB for the homerun ball and Bryce is going to turn it into a 50/50 jump ball or force the WR to the boundary.   And that's if he is set.  If you get Bryce on his backfoot and off set.....he can't make a ton of throws properly.

it's just a really bland O you gotta pull w/ Bryce.  The highlight is the quirky scramble until humans get close.

With his level of coaching that is in question at this point. He was literally brought in for Bryce by Morgan. He certainly hasn't earned it to date.

Separate the struggles in the pass game for a second and just look at the playcalling and the lack of urgency on Canales' side. He was woefully outcoached by a rookie HC for the Jaguars, a team who did not impress me for most of the game. Anybody -- even 5-6 college teams -- can run for 200 yards on the Panthers. The Panthers won't have five sacks this season as a team. But look at the stupid offensive calls, the abject failure when it comes to situational awareness, and it's clear Young is not the only one who's not deserving of trust.

But hey, remember that the next coach and QB will suck just as much. So no sense in being too harsh to either of them, I guess.

He was hired because nobody else would take the job. The whisper bs was given him by pundits and fans to try to reason as to why he was here in the first place.

Nope he was hired because Morgan was hired as the GM who picked him, his friend. My statement stands sir. The reason Mogan was hired is because he helped draft Young and it's always revolved around that not being a mistake since it happened even though it always was one. Now how Evero is still here is a mystery to me. Tepper, Morgan or DC chose that after last year. No idea who yet.

 Keep telling yourself that.

    • 10 years ago, the reactions to this thread would have at the least made me question myself and what I’m seeing in my evaluation versus what I’m feeling.  But not now.  I know where this mentality comes from and we’re seeing unfold in real-time, everyday in society.  Call someone else dumb while any and all statistics supports their argument, but if you just keep doubling down, you can make people forget about facts. It’s also why my replies to this despite 16 pages have been pretty sparse outside of one, and that post was mostly ignored because it called the BS out for what it is.     I don’t take it personal, because I know for them, it is VERY personal.  Not a person alive on this planet is going to tell me, nor convince me, that any other starter in the NFL isn’t more physically talented than Bryce.  We have all read and seen the stats - 32nd out of 32 starters since being drafted.  We have watched the games.  Countless games where Bryce struggles to hit 100 yards until the 4th.  Countless times he fumbles untouched, trips over his own feet, under throws or throws behind, or just throws straight to a defender who has been lurking in the same spot from the snap.  But, there is this mysterious ancient metric that us simpletons have not gained access to, that makes him better than the stats and eye test combined.🤣🤣🤣 Kyler Murray is wildly physically gifted, but specially for his size.  He has a laser arm, and he’s a quick, twitchy athlete.  Baseball background, multi-sport star.  And he’s statistically better than Bryce.  In my observations and estimation, his only downside is I don’t think he has ever applied himself and he doesn’t prepare as he should.  He relies on his talent alone, and I think that also carries over to questions about leadership.  But, all of that considered, these guys don’t want him over Bryce.  So again, I ask why?  The same logic is applied to Shedeur.  Hell, I would apply the same logic to Brissett.  Jameis.  Any fuging body with physical talented to throw a football.  If you have the worst starter in the league, proven over almost three full years, what do you owe him?  Hint: It’s not another year.  One can deduce from that point that you could easily find a replacement that will give you better production, even from someone who go isn’t a current starter.     I knew society had gotten dumber, but damn…  “don’t tell me what’s better!  I want to keep fuging myself and nobody can stop me!”🤣🤣🤣
