Why is everyone focused on BY while the real problem is ignored

The Panthers had the worst defense in the history of the NFL last season and yet somehow, instead of commenting on how dissappointed they are in it or why might be the cause of it or how frustrated they are, the first 7 responses are all about BY.

This place really has gone to crap. It's a one themed forum. Just change the name to the Bryce Young Sucks forum and quick pretending you car about the rest of the team.

Maybe because once again, a 1st round pick has gone to adding another piece for BY. 2nd round edge rushers are rarely going to be massive impact players as rookies and our LB corps is thinner than porta-potty TP. Our defense isn't good because our resources have been spent on our offense. If we had spent 3 years worth of resources on defense, this conversation would be more than warranted.

oh wait how many points did Andy Dalton have to score to win his one game last year….

Well, that Dalton game produced the most passing yardage on the year.

And the D coincidentally allowed less yards and points than they averaged on the year.  Probably because it resulted in the best TOP all year….offense keeps a bad D off the field

It wouldn't matter if we had the 85 Bears defense, Bryce is a former #1 overall pick who hasn't played playoff caliber football in his entire career, so yea, he's going to be the main discussion point.

It's the NFL in 2025, if you don't have a QB, that is your real problem, no matter what other problems you have.

This is just wrong.  This defense was historically bad last season.  Bryce has to turn this around very fast or we will move on but saying all the losses are his fault is ludicrous.

You create yet another thread about this subject don't get the responses you like and then proceed to complain about the platform as a whole.

Stop creating threads.

Really? What other thread are you talking about because this is the only post I have started in a year or so.

Secondly, am I only allowed to create a thread that has to do with how badly Young is doing. That's rich LOL.

I was only half serious when I said the forums name should be changed but I guess I was right.

If WRs can catch then Bryce would have 300+ yards a game

if the O-line can block for more than 5 seconds then Bryce can scan the field with his S2+pro max processor of a brain

If the defense can make stops then Bryce can cook on offense

Bryce needs all the stars to align, everyone else needs to play the perfect game, in order to succeed.

We have deficiencies all throughout the roster, but Bryce is the biggest one. That's why he's talked about the most. We were promised and gaslit into expecting a generational superstar at the QB position. That hasn't transpired and all evidence points to it never transpiring.

And they still gave up 22 points. Then the next two weeks 36 and 38…..all without Bryce.

If you want to say Bryce should be carrying this team like Cam did. Yea maybe. But I’m not confident with this defense that even Cam could win more than a few games. It’s historically bad( as evidenced by last year) and led by a coordinator that will be out of the league working at Walgreens once he gets fired.

Honestly before this last game most ppl here were hopeful that Bryce would play better.  There's no more excuses left for Bryce

The Panthers won the other games at the beginning of the year were the defense held them to 22 and 17 points as well but they only scored 22 and 20 points themselves I don't think your argument passes the test.

The real problem is David Tepper. Bryce Young is just one of his many mistakes.

It takes years, even decades, to build a culture. I don't think many of us realized we were in the good days when we were.

What we've learned from Tepper is that culture can be destroyed much quicker than it can be built.

Unpopular opinion but I think he's learned and mostly stepped aside.  Maybe Morgan can rebuild what once was, but it looks like we're 5+ years out.

Seriously, I don't know how this turned into another BY thread. It was in no way posted as a defense of him. I simply wanted to point out there are other things on this team that should be concerning besides him.

Not sure how yall have turned it into another BY sucks post but here we are....again.

I get what you are saying but am not sure even with better players they would be much better. Heck, they invested heavily in free agency last year to get better against the run and yet they, again, gave up over 200 yrds rushing. That's been a common theme EVER SINCE EVERO HAS BEEN HERE.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
