If you put "X" player on a great team, he could be good.

Unless the league decides to rollback the rule book 30 years, that player at QB isn't winning any Super Bowls.  QB has to elevate those around him.  QBs that are carried by the team are always exposed in the playoffs.

Closest thing to an average QB that has won the SB recently is Jalen Hurts.  But he's so unique with his legs and the unstoppable tush push that I don't think it's easy to compare him to anyone.  Certainly not someone who is subbed out for QB sneaks.

Right team, wrong year and player.

Since the 2003 season, there are only 2 SB winning QB's who won't end up in the HOF (Hurts not included as I think that's still up in the air), would be Flacco and Foles.

The next worst QB to win in that time frame would be Eli, followed by Wilson, and then Big Ben.

The other SB winning QB's since then... Brady, Mahomes, Stafford, Peyton, Rodgers, Brees... basically some of the best to ever play the game and Stafford, a surefire HOFer after winning his SB.

You have to go back to the 2002 season to find a truly average QB to have won the SB with Brad Johnson and then 2 years before that with Dilfer.  Before that, you have to go all the way back to the 1991 season when the Redskins won, everyone else between there are HOFers.

I would argue their play during their respective seasons was elite, and they elevated those around them.  Regardless of what they became after that moment.

Totally fair, I was just pointing out that since the 1992 season, if you say Hurts is still a HOF TBD, there have only been 4 SB winning QB's who aren't already in the HOF or HOF locks.

Which in itself is just a crazy thing to look at and is proof that you can't just win a SB with a great roster, you really do need an elite QB.

What do you make of CJ having a lower QBR currently than Bryce while also sitting at 0-2. That’s the guy you wanted right?

Stroud with our o line, run game, Tet and Canales able to fully use the playbook we are 2-0 right now.  Texans are still 0-2 with Bryce.

Ok Frank AKA Red, let’s go.

I’m a fair analyst of the complete situation. It’s Lazy fandom to dump everything on the QB. Sometimes it ain’t the QB it’s the situation. And we don’t have a good one here. Stop acting like Bryce has been given this perfect situation to thrive in. His best WR last year got shipped off, right before the season. His best WR this year is a rookie. His #2 is doing nothing but taking up space. His #3 wasn’t even in the league last year and caught two TDs on Sunday. His HC is a question mark. His OC is a student. And his owner is the worst in sports.

So the WRs are the reason Bryce cant attempt a Hail Mary?

Did he just fail to attempt it or was he on his ass before the WRs could make it down the field?

by the way you used up your only ace boogie response for the year until you establish more coherent thoughts.

I think that’s a pretty good rule of thumb.
I would struggle to identify any counters, though I feel there are some lurking out there.

People could argue for Flacco, Dilfer, guys who ran the gauntlet and didn’t get exposed. I bet the list of guys that did (get exposed) is pretty large.

Bryce can't see the damned field. That's why he misses reads and misses passes. He gets no pass. He can't move the pocket and make a clean pass with any regularity because he's dancing on his tippy toes more than Misty Copeland.

They had to bring in old man Dalton because Young cant throw far enough to make that play.

I’m still waiting for someone to pull up the film and show me all of the passes he’s missing. Anyone? Shouldn’t be too hard right?

There were multiple passes that were either extremely low or near the ground or that actually hit the ground. It's why he finally got an intentional grounding call on that final drive when he actually had to try and win the game. Passes to the sideline were often erratic at best too.

You just have your head buried in the sand.
