I doubt he comes out this year.  Arch is having a rough go of it, he's likely staying too.

If I was him, it’s the perfect year to come out for that reason.  I know Vandy won and he got injured in that game, but I’ve been seeing chatter about Pavia as a top QB too, and although they won, he doesn’t look like a franchise QB.  Arch, for whatever the reason he looks so bad, he just isn’t a franchise QB either.  All the other guys that come to mind who are RS Soph or Juniors, to me, are not appealing.  Sellers likely is the most physically gifted QB were he to come out this year.  They even opened the game with the graphic about him being a potential #1 overall pick.  He’s already got the hype.  If the other guys stay in school, it just drives his stock up higher.

After watching the falcons game tonight, I think we might actually win next week.

If we can not turn the ball over and defense plays below average instead of horrible like today, there is a shot.

I feel like with Bryce, our defense is always guaranteed to give up 25 minimum.  It’s built-in.

There's not a single rookie in this draft that's going to make us win more than 3 games next year. If you want to start winning, going to have to look for a vet.

The problem is that finding a vet is probably an even taller task than finding a QB in the draft. Teams aren't in the habit of letting go of serviceable QBs. There aren't any vets available who their team hasn't decided that either A) this guy isn't a starter or B) this guy is washed. That's pretty much the entirety of veteran QBs that are available.

It's not about next season. Forget about next season. Our biggest issue i. The Teller era is that we've constantly been focused on how we can be the best bad team we can be next season. This has clouded our ability to actually try to build a roster that can sustain success. It's just constant knee jerk band aid approaches.

It’s hard to find a vet as a legit long term starter.  But it would be easy to improve upon the QB room we have today.  Someone like Sam Howell might be ass but he could have been had for basically nothing.  And he has some NFL level tools

hate to break it to you but there ain't a quarterback worth a damn coming to the draft. The talent pool has fallen off. We need a veteran at this point, a pro bowler, open the damn check book. Much as I said before the last draft, we can't draft. We don't hit on poo. FFS go get Jameis at this point. We could have had Wilson. fug it, push for Kyler.

Oh, I agree. I've said I'm all for bringing in someone like Howell or Jameis. IMO, when you don't have a QB you have to pursue all potential avenues. Look at the draft, look at free agency, look at the trade market. Sometimes you luck into an answer where you don't expect it. We didn't truly expect Jake to be the answer. I don't think the Lions expected Goff to be their answer when they got him included in the Stafford trade, they probably just wanted him as a bridge QB. Just look for ways to improve your roster. It doesn't seem like we do that. We think we have boxes checked and just don't even look to potentially improve. Oh, we have Andy Dalton we're good at backup QB.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
