He has been a backup his last 2 stops.  Here he would have a chance to start with a decent OL and having TMac helps.  If he ever wants to make a lot of money he is going to have to be a starter somewhere.

I really don't think he will develop into a starter, if I am being honest.

I'm not against bringing in Trey Lance honestly.  He has sat for a while under several different solid coaches and he is still only 25 (turns 26 in May).  He has every physical tool you want and I'd like to see what Canales can get out of him.  I mean he got the Niners to take him at 3 who typically know what they are doing, they just stumbled into Purdy while he was out.

Same could be said for Hooker. Still young enough, good size and good arm. He is already here. Everyone sez he sux, but what are our choices? If Bryce sh#ts the bed again, might as well try it out.

I'd rather poach Jake Browning.

Dude, you and me... hes good... in pretty much every aspect of a QB..perfect no, solid hell yes. Makes every throw...stands tall in the pocket... he wouldn't be our problem in Carolina. Hes got 5-6 years left to be effective. But Jesus would look bad QBing this team.

I mean, he would be insanely cheap. I would caution betting the farm on a 29 year old career PS guy.

It's a shot in the dark like it is with most QBs.  I just know he has played in the NFL for what 4 years now?  Learned under Shanahan, McCarthy, and now Harbaugh.  He has has 143 attempted passes and 65 carries in this league during the regular season.  He checks everything you want physically.  It could be a fun option to watch while we keep building this roster and look at drafting a future QB.  I still wouldn't hold my breath on it but it's interesting and a cheap option.

I watched him on many occasion....hes more of a Berlin, Brad Johnson thang.  Not gonna kill you but smart with throws... thats why I said 5 yrs max. Better than anything we have now by a wide margin  and better than anything in the next draft. We would kill anything good he had.

Well it would probably cost you maybe league minimum + very little to obtain him in the offseason.

I am gonna guess, unless he gets money thrown his way, he is probably going to stick there in Cincy.

We have most of the rest of the season to see what he is.
