Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball.

Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem,

"While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars."

, bravo, take a bow, sir!

Hurricanes D Legault out 3 to 4 months after hand surgery

The Carolina Hurricanes announced that defenceman Charles Alexis Legault had surgery to repair multiple torn extensor tendons in his right hand on Monday.

He is expected to miss three to four months recovering.

Damn. Sucks for the kid. Heal up well and bank that NHL paycheck while you get right!

Seems like such a freak thing. But, I'm always amazed more stuff like this doesn't happen in a sport where players fight with knives on their feet.

Two nights ago the canes had the best record the league.

Two nights ago the Canes were second behind NJD in points, tied in point percentage in the Metro. Right now before the game they are still second behind NJD in points (a game behind) and ahead in point percentage. And no, they weren’t first in the league in points or point percentage two nights ago. Tonight if they win will make the Canes the point leader in the Metro, which was my point.;)

Depending on how his hand heals and if he gets full movement back, his NHL career might be over.

wtf that sucks about Legault.  Wow I hate that for him

Yea it does, I hope he heals and can come back. That said if you cut your hand deep enough to sever/ completely tear your extensor tendons, I'm going to think there's some major nerve damage as well on top of the difficulty of relearning to use your hand.

I had to hear this bad news. Let's hope it is not as bad as it seems.

Ehhh cut two extensor tendons on my ring finger and middle finger on a razor left in my attic pulling myself up....

It sucked but with clean cuts they heal pretty well.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
