Why should Newton not be fired if he isn’t good at his job? I feel like a ton of passionate fans would love that job.

I dont read his stuff anymore but I am not his employer, so somebody likes the job he is doing.

Honestly. The fact that David Newton is paid any amount of money to be a "journalist" is a black eye for all of civilization.

I think at ESPN you kowtow to their agenda and they leave you alone. It really isn’t merit based as much as people that manage stuff like that want to get it to where it runs itself and they don’t have to micro worry about it. This incident might get their attention. which, you don’t want if you are Newton (or another schlub doing the daily grind, you really just want to stay off their radar). 

I don’t read him either, for a few years now. 
We lose so much, I generally have stopped listening to post game  and locker room stuff so missing him is easy.

The huddle has been calling for people of all walks of life to be fired for over 2 decades now. Dying on a hill for David Newton of all people is just embarrassingly tacky. Please stop. Thanks.
