Trade Chuba?

At the moment? Absolutely not.

Maybe if they drop the next three in a row and go into the deadline at 3-6 I can see an argument to be made to move Rico as he's on a 1yr deal. I'd rather keep Chuba's contract though and roll with ETN + JB next season. The team will have plenty of time to see how JB is looking going into the offseason a year-plus after his surgery to know whether or not they need to plan for another direction.

We're in a weird place right now, we're not buyers, we're not sellers.

Let's ride with what we've got.

A new Double Trouble could be the remedy for what has been ailing us.

And honestly, I like both of those guys a lot. Etienne, too.

We thought WR was a strong room before the season and it went South quickly.  A lot less has to go wrong for one of them to go down.  Can we just enjoy having nice things on this one?

Chuba entrenched contract wise, and Rico is the rental.  I had to say it like this, but let's see if Rico can handle the punishment before we spend on him.  If not, run him a bit into the ground and save Chuba.

Rico is closer to that decline age.  Let that be somewhere else.

I'm not absolutely certain it's "south" if Coker is healthy.

Legette may be "south" but if Coker returns to form and Tremayne continues to develop, who knows?

this is one of those madden trades that makes sense in a video game but not real life

for starters Dowdle is on a one year deal

second, if Dowdle gets injured then you have DeeJay Dallas and a rookie as your primary backs for the rest of the year

third, Chuba is a leader in the locker room and a culture setter

You can't complain about us having a bad culture then trade away one of the few guys who is respected and does all the right things

Finally, we have found our formula for winning- run the ball well and stop the run. If you trade Chuba you inherently hurt your ability to do that.

I agree, unless there is a young talent available that fits our timeline I would just hold steady at the trade deadline

People get trade happy and look at resources as barter items. They fail to see them as resources to be used to our benefit rather than someone else's. Right now, Chuba and Rico are massive benefits to us and a strong rushing attack so greatly benefits any passer, much less a young one like Bryce still is.

And the better our running game, the more our offense can eat up the clock, the less time our defense is on the field. And that is priceless, too.

Don't mess with the running game. Don't mess with the receivers. Maybe look at our O-line and think we may have hit on something good during these injuries. Look at our D-line and seem some strength evolving there. Our secondary has its good spots and some that are still developing. Our linebacking corps did well this last outing. Our special teams are on a major upswing as of this past week. Heck, even our QB is showing us a little something right now that we can build on.

Perhaps putting out a yard sale sign right now might be less advantageous than looking at the team and saying, "You are all part of something good that is happening. We want to see that continue to grow."
