The Bryce Young "Game Winning Drive" narrative needs to end

Wrong it was an anticipation throw with the eagles sending the blitz, Bryce threw to a spot where Legette had to be it and he dropped it. Again that doesn’t change the fact that goes down as a GWD is he catches it

Hubbard had 12 carries that game LOL

Hubbard ran for 2/4 plays in overtime, and considering how the panthers have generally handled overtime it’s safe to assume they’d be leaning on him.

I dont know what you mean about anticipation throw since basically every one of them is. Air under this throw he isn’t diving for a ball. If he throwing to a spot a wide receiver has to dive for it’s not a good throw.

You are making assumptions that people expect another Cam to come along. I don’t think people do. I don’t expect that. Just a guy that isn’t physically less than the NFL standard for even an almost franchise QB.

I do see his team believing on him somewhat. I don’t know how much of that is in the moment we won emotion and how much is deep belief.

I also have seen guys throwing helmets and making public displays of frustration. Barely over a year ago.

There needs to be a consistent and legit expectation and it needs to be do-able against stacked boxes when they shut down the running game and dare him to beat them through the air.

He is not there at this  time. IMO.

Bryce has shown he can be effective throwing when he needs too. But the goal is not be one dimensional but have the ability to run and pass when the other team tries to limit you. Most times the more a quarterback throws is inversely related to winning the game as they are likely behind and playing catchup.  Bryce has shown he can throw the ball under pressure and comeback which is huge. Is he a complete QB yet? No but honestly he has played one season in this system (roughly 16 games) with a first time head coach and a team somewhat bereft of talent. What I am encouraged by is his continued progress and willingness to learn and grow. Given his incredibly poor results in year 1 and early year 2, many folks were so discouraged they gave up.on him and haven't changed their mind. When he learns how to win on the road in the NFL he will be well on his way to being our franchise qb. Did I want him as our QB? No. But he is our guy and until he is no longer here I will support him.

When I think of "Game Winning Drive" I think of this and only this.

It's a QB who hasn't put his team in a hole, but one who finishes the battle he's been in all day.

Actually when he was doing this he was often sulking with a towel over his head and not rallying his team at all. It wasn't until he learned to stay positive and be a team player that he had his greatest success.

He is comparing him to Cam who had to wait for a player to be clearly open and try to laser it in there allowing defender to recover. Bryce does a much better job throwing to spots and trusting his guys to be where they were supposed to be. Something that was one of Cams biggest limitations and something honestly he never did well. And if the receiver isn't in the right spot it isn't the QBs fault. He is usually throwing it before the receiver makes his cut. Receivers make qbs look good or bad not usually the other way around.

I don’t believe in him as our guy for the next however many years and want this to be resolved. he has mostly played bad football. Mixed with decent and a little bit of really good.
When the game is being played I don’t root against him I want to see good football and be competitive.
before and after, I am ready for them to pull the plug. I am most afraid he does borderline okay and they see it as okay let’s give him another year. 4 years. Unless he morphs into a pro bowl leveled and stays there, I can’t abide

I am pretty tired of 2.5 years of mostly bad football by him and then hearing poor Bryce the team around him sucks he has no one to help him. That needs to be over and done with.

Well Jon Snow says in another thread he has seen it.
So I will apologize for calling you out.

but at the same time you should know that the guys in these daily threads are not saying that stuff. Because we are not.

There were long arguments about a 20 yard pass being a deep ball. but no one in those threads claimed he couldn’t throw it twenty yards.
The distance stuff starts to come in at twice that distance. And Hail Marys and such.

That’s literally a clip from the Giants game in 2015 where the defense had just allowed the game tying score and he gave the nod to say we’ve got this. And we did.
