Nope. There was honestly no plan to bring Bryce back

Also Dalton looked even worse this preseason. He’s a 40 year old with 100 years of experience and he couldn’t move the ball against teams 2nd units… I honestly can’t believe they wasted cap space brining him back

Again going back to his signing thread, the best reasoning for resigning him for not 1 but 2 years was he knows the offense and the biggie he was a good mentor to Bryce.   Thats why.  So it was fuging stupid to do so and its going to be on full display Sunday 1 pm

You guys are aware that Dalton got injured last season and that is why Bryce returned, right?

He kept the job because that was when Bryce started getting hot(well, by his standards anyway) and that time DC decided to ride the hot hand.

His play deteriorated every week until that happened though.  The game logs tell the same story I remember watching.  He was ass.

Bryce Young is averging only 184 yards per game right now through his first 7 games

& so if u get another Qb like Winston or Howell I just  can't imagine either one of them not only being better than Andy Dalton but Bryce Young also

truth be known Andy Dalton is probably better than Bryce Young & will average more than 184 yards per game...just saying

Better at piling up yards but also far better at piling up TO's. That's why those guys are currently 3rd string QB's. It looks great when it's working and it looks really bad when it isn't.

There’s better backup qb options, just gotta kick some tires, hell look what Joe Flacco went for in the same division

Yeah but that was an abnormal situation. Flacco wasn't getting the results and wasn't going to be a part of their future. There isn't an equivalent situation that makes us better or makes sense for us.

Especially not at a bargain bin price. You want to trade for a guy like Tua? Well....good luck with the price AND the contract.

There is a dearth of quality starting QB's. That also means there aren't a bunch of them sitting on the bench elsewhere.

I just don't see any point in getting your hopes up. If Dan Morgan were actually as concerned about the QB room as much as many fans here are he would have done literally anything more than the effort that was essentially a shrug this year and last year.

when you are talking about the Panthers current Qbs & other teams backups it's like OK I don't really like any of these options at Qb but let me go ahead & pick the lesser of two evils .

&  Bryce Young has been a turnover machine throughout his NFL career & so has Wintson

this situation at Qb should have been addressed way before now prior to the season .& any of these Qbs will be just as good if not better than Bryce Young is no big loss   ...just saying

Bryce is definitely very TO prone but Winston is pretty wild. 1.62 TO's/GM in his NFL career to Bryce's 1.19.

I am just saying, it can actually get worse. Winston is that worse.

I agree, however, the offseason is the time to deal with this situation.

Oh naw I’m thinking more low level, Tua is def not worth trading for, unfortunately the guys that fit the bill are already playing games for the retrospective teams, Jacoby brisset, Carson wentz, Mac jones etc

reality is the FO most likely isn’t looking at options that would potentially usurp young’s job, otherwise there would be more options

    • Has anybody actually said anything of that sort? (if they did, I missed it) I get why some folks rely on stats. I don't, and honestly I'm not sure why people keep trying to convince me I should. (it ain't gonna happen) 😕 Consistency is my big thing too, and the lack of it is why I want to move on from Bryce. But again, that's an argument I make without denying that he can indeed play in (and yes, win) NFL games. Hating bad QB play is fine. Denying when you see good QB play is silly. Let's be real for a second... This may not be you specifically, but there are some folks for whom Bryce can do absolutely nothing to win their approval. Some are always gonna want a bigger / stronger / faster / more athletic (in some cases, Newtonesque) quarterback even if Bryce does start to play consistently. At that point, they'll just shift the argument from "we can't win with Bryce" to "well, we can't keep winning with Bryce" 😖 You know all this as well as I do. So again, I want to move on from Bryce as well. I'd happily (hell, merrily) keep him as a backup, but I doubt there's a realistic path to that happening. But no matter what, I'm gonna keep my debate points based in reality, and I'm not gonna be responsive to "he just sucks" level persuasion. Is any of that unreasonable? 🤔
    • Apples and oranges.   No one is coming for Jon Snow and the neutral party when they compliment Bruce when it is just normal talk about a game.  Which is the literal picture you are trying to paint above.  I mean that’s exactly what you argued. if you start a thread that is about the future of the franchise at QB going forward at QB and what we should do or are thinking! Yeah, the anti Bryce crowd is going to very vocal on that thread because the literal topic is extending Bryce and the future at QB (which is what an anti Bryce position is literally about.  Moving on.  The future) This thread? I literally called out people in their feelings wanting to make this about Bryce and their hurt feelings eroding over.  You can find where I literally calls them out go make another Bryce thread if they didn’t want to talk Saints and the most relevant thing about them.  And the thread went exactly as we all knew it would.   Bryce deserved player of the week talk for Atlanta.  I have always acknowledged his great games.  A shame there are only two
    • Then the offense will be the same up and down underperforming offense they are this year and our FO are filled with idiots.
