Bryce Young has now played one full seasons worth of games since returning from his benching in 2024

Bryce Young is a good young talent at QB.  Some people on here can’t get past an ego and admit he has clearly improved.  Nobody can question this guys character and work ethic.  He ain’t perfect and even I question things but giving up seems premature to me.  Guy is 24 yrs old.

Has Bryce shown enough to be paid 30 mil?

It's interesting you perceive a simple acknowledgement of reality in terms of where we are on the ladder across the league as a franchise as flexing. But that is not at all surprising to me. I remember you arguing with me about our awful QB room earlier in the year and specifically Andy Dalton. Everything with you seems to circle back to trying to carry water for Bryce Young. You should get on the payroll bud. Don't work for free.

This routine never gets old does it Frank? You get questioned on something you are clearly wrong about (ie your claim that Davis mills won a playoff game), act like a complete dick about it when given an opportunity to explain yourself, get proven wrong and then change the subject to something else from months ago to try to save face.

By the way, that past argument about Dalton that you all of sudden remember was another one you backed out of at the time and are trying your best to dodge and deflect (again). You said Dalton was overpaid and I asked you of the backups available at around the same price range (and I gave you examples of players and salaries) this offseason who specifically would you rather pick and you dodged that question entirely. Couldn’t give a name or two or three, just avoided the question and said anybody which is a non answer. Par for the course though.

Not a surprise that it always comes back to any discussion where someone doesn’t 100% agree with you that you always come back to bullshit like “you carry water for the teppers you Bryce Stan”. I’m sure the next quote to my post will be one of your other four plays in the playbook, something alluding to mental health, or that I replied too quickly or too slowly or at the wrong time of the day or too many words to read. Oh or maybe a clever gif! Does that about sum it up?

Sorry, but ‘even I ….’ Is gold. Pure gold.
I, everyone, has seen you hop off the train but if the Panthers team wins a game with him at QB you hop right back to worship mode and telling us, basically, how shitty we are for not getting behind him. Thanks for the laugh. I needed a laugh.

Where did you get 30 mil?  You his agent?

The 5th year is something like 27 mil.  It isn’t guaranteed yet but they are gonna fix that for you.

No. But I don’t think we are anywhere near having to face that yet.

So what's your solution moving forward?

We play out the season and don’t worry about the offseason until the offseason. If you can find an upgrade for a reasonable price, do it. But don’t mortgage the future thinking that we are one player away.

They have until May 1 to claim the option, so they have to know by the end of the season

And we are only halfway through this season and have 7 months until we have to make the decision. So much will change between now and the end of the season both with the panthers and with the rest of the league.

He's been better than pre-benching obviously, but not by a whole lot and he still needs to be replaced this offseason.

ANd you have to look at the financials--he will be in line for a $50m per contract--we can't be on the fence then.

Here is the rub.  For Bryce to be good, you need an elite OL, solid RB (s), and quite an investment at WR.   Best to have a D that keeps the opposition under 21 points per game.

Not sure we can afford a mediocre qb who is not dual threat and completes a low percentage of passes that are usually pretty short.

His processing is not quick.  His arm is not average.   He is not an alpha.

We are reading the tea leaves. Right now we don’t know how many games he will miss. He left after the best 6 best consecutive quarters he has played.
He couldn’t have drawn it up better to get the benefit of the doubt from people that seem inclined to give it to him.

As a person who never wanted him, I couldn’t draw up a worse scenario for the offseason.
He gets the benefit of the doubt without earning it by showing us what we need to see as this season plays out.
And if he does play they can blame any poor play on a bum ankle he is gutting through. The dominoes just line up…

I guess I am clutching pearls but as I said, we have been abused. I can’t help myself.
It seems like he could skate another year without giving us what we need to see from him. Maybe he will.
I need to see him leave no doubt or I will have much doubt.
