Seth Walder: Regrading 8 trades from the 2024 NFL trade deadline

Happy with him too. Should have included him. And the new (last year?) analytics guy they hired away from the firm Dimitrof was involved in,  probably has added some value to the team.

Whatever they did the 2025 draft is paying unheard of early dividends. And when you look at the 2024 and want to trash it, we need to remember we got Scourton from the trade down with the Rams. I mentioned that earlier today but it has been totally overlooked. By me too.

I think you need to give some credit to Tillis as well. He's been instrumental in helping Dan understand player value and trade value relative to the draft. Dan was not a draft expert to say the least. He needed help with that and Tillis so far has earned his money.

Hopeful that the 2025 draft is a sign of the new regime, and that 2024 was a a hangover from the old. I imagine somebody like Tillis not being hired until a couple months before the draft wouldn't come in and rock the boat too much. Give input, but still feeling the situation out. 2025 was more of his "first" draft here in my eyes.

You have to credit Bryce for one thing, he paradoxically increased the trade value of our trash receivers.

Teams were thinking, "these guys only look like crap because Carolina's QB situation is so bad." Little did the know, they were just crap.

Lookit Bryce! Little by little helping us claw back the draft capital we frittered away on him.

you backers will reach on absolutely anything you can.

I think Dan Morgan has fooled some of us and will turn out to be pretty shrewd. After this past year I think you have fo see how he can do with another offseason

I think many were concerned because Morgan worked with Fitterer, and was in the room when many poor decisions were made in the past, including passing on the Brian Burns haul from the Rams, trading up for Bryce Young, and then turning around and not re-signing Burns and trading him for only a 2nd round pick. From 2022-2024 the team jettisoned way more talent than it brought back in, most of it being Fitterer's fault, but Morgan had to shoulder some of that blame too.

He seems to be getting better and that makes me hopeful, but time will tell.

I think we need to let the 2025 class develop. Remember at one point early during last season the 2024 class was gonna be a killer. And we had all kinds of people chirping about how the 2021 Draft was the greatest of all time.

Early returns are promising. Let's hope it continues.

    • He’s also playing with 2 top 5 pick pass rushers and getting some 1 on 1 looks. I’m pretty sure there was never a huge question about whether he could win some 1 on 1 pass rush reps. The main issue was consistent effort, being a complete liability against the run, and asking for more than he was worth. Trading him was the right move and still is, the biggest problem was not trading him when the best deal was on the table.
    • Bryce Young has come into camp three offseasons in a row looking completely the same as if he couldn't be bothered to enter the weight room and his fumbling issues have also carried over three seasons in a row. So I have no idea why anyone would expect not to see this subject of him going down with minimal contact eventually come up. Don't have to like it but that comes with the territory of being a #1 pick.
    • ? The dude stepped on his plant leg. We’ve seen him break plenty of hand swipes/arm tackles. I seem to remember one play his shirt getting pulled like a rubber band in the end zone. See, I was told up and down last week that these kinds of takes are fringe and rarely if ever happen…and when they do they are very unserious. Is it my fault for taking this seriously? Are the pies not people agreeing, but rather an inside joke? Let me know.
