I said he was washed when they resigned him and not many wanted to hear it. There is zero reasons to have guys on the 53 that can't contribute anymore. They should have gone after someone else and let that guy retire. What a fugging joke

Dalton is washed, but I don't think he's as bad as his performance yesterday.  The reason they re-signed him is because he and Bryce have a good relationship, Andy knows his role is as the backup and he's not notably better than Young.  In other words, he's a mentor who's not gunning for Young's starting spot even when Bryce himself has azz games or stretches of games.

that poo shouldnt be happening in the nfl, nobody gives a fug if they are friends, he is a liability on this football team as evidenced yesterday.  A #1 overall pick doesnt need a fuging mentor going into year 3.

While all what you said is true, this is Bryce Young we are talking about and what little Bryce wants, little Bryce gets.  He wanted his wooby back so he can feel safe and secure.

I think he is that bad. He just past the point of being serviceable overall. He was good for one game the last 2 seasons for being a lite version of his old self but fell apart after that. He doesn't have much left to give to the game and that's fine given what he has accomplished to this point. It was obvious in preseason honestly.

The why they brought him back is completely laughable. Bryce is in year three so he didn't need emotional support or a friend, he needed to go put up a showing that gets him his 5th year option. He needed to see how a team works with a guy trying to prove himself after failing elsewhere, not to pander to his ego or feelings. Go be a professional and not a grown ass babyman. Im over the coddling this team gives people and it coming back to blow up in their faces.

Not simping, just saying…  people also thought Daniel Jones was washed before he went there because of how bad he looked with his previous team - I didn’t.  Sometimes if they have the ability, a change of scenery is what is needed, but tbh, after watching us yesterday, I think our problems are much bigger than who is starting at QB.

In a sense they are, It goes to why we have this QB and why there has been no competition brought in to challenge him.
We all knew that we were settling on the HC, hiring him on early in his career because we were getting shunned by the qualified candidates. So there is something to overcome there.
I think Morgan has done a pretty good job considering the constraints are likely placed on him and the team around him there is looking promising but the problems are pretty much all stemming from ownership.

So he’s the Jonathan Mingo of backup QBs now at this point in his career.  Bryce roster building hasn’t been a very fruitful undertaking.

Kinda weird that Dalton craps the bed yesterday and it's somehow Bryce's fault? Yall gotta take a step back sometimes and listen to yourselves. If anything, yesterday showed that our oline and WRs aren't nearly as good as you thought they were.

is there a particular post you are referring to because thats a wild assertion

I agree on all counts, and my criticisms aren’t directed towards Morgan.  I think he is doing great where he’s allowed to.  QB should’ve absolutely been addressed with a contingency plan to the the contingency plan.

I don’t think people think it was Bryce’s fault that Andy sucked, but more the reason Andy is here is because of Bryce. And certainly that wasn’t Bryce’s decision to make but people feel like they have been coddling him and that is part of it. So it gets taken out on him.
Same way I took it out on him that we put no assets into the defense and let it get so bad.

Anyhow damn, Andy,s biggest asset is his experience and he folded like a scared rookie. I didn’t know for sure about his physical readiness but I felt completely comfortable with his ability to ‘field general’ and read and react to the defense.

I wonder how much Shaq was able to undermine the checks and tell them about what was coming but that doesn’t excuse the bonehead play of the QB .

Out of pie so must quote and agree.
Yeah those are the constraints. We really need that situation to resolve itself.

It is a lot of the mentor thing. It is a lot of the comfort level the staff had with him also, probably, but I believe what is behind it for real is they don’t want people chanting ‘we want the backup‘ in BOA. And they way the QB has played at times, if they had a promising younger player there that would damn well happen.
Fortunately for ownership the team and Bryce have done well enough at home this year to keep the wolf away from the door in that regard.

In fact, having seen Bryce play as poorly as Andy, he was ‘fortunate’ to not be thrown out there yesterday. Because that was a much better team than we have been facing plus it looked like Shaq knew everything that was coming. It could easily have been the same type of result if Bryce was in the game.
