Say what you all want. That guy was grinning from ear to ear on the sideline before the game winning drive. I fuging love that poo.

When we have the ball at the end of the game I feel very confident, and that’s a great feeling to have.

However, when he’s missing throws left and right it makes me physically nauseous.

Buddy, you are 5’10 180 with a below average arm what do you mean you’re inaccurate too?

He grins when he turns the ball over, when he misses recievers and when other teams score.  I dont think grinning means anything with him

The accuracy issues are startling. The one thing about a true game manager is accuracy and modest productivity. He has neither of those.

He is neither reliably productive nor remotely accurate.

One of the only moments in his entire career where he actually impressed me was when he had the shimmer in his eye and grin on his face before that final drive on Sunday.  When I saw the look on his face I knew we were going to go right down the field and win.  You could see in his eyes he knew he had the game won.

I think a lot of that had to do with him knowing Rico was feeling good and the Packers defense was gassed, and not necessarily confidence in his own abilities, but I digress...

I thought Flutie was the closest comp but iirc had a much better arm.
There really is no good comp that I could dream up.

Correct, there isn’t one. We went all in on the outlier of all outliers and lost. I swear if they extend him and devote huge cap space to this mediocrity I will lose my mind.

Yeah, I don't watch college ball, so predraft with some people making Brees comparisons, I just assumed with his size he probably had pinpoint accuracy. Boy Howdy, "startling" is a great word to describe watching his rookie season.

I don’t watch college ball either, for the most part. All I needed was his pro day. I saw the issues right away, and was shocked that the pro evaluators allowed the insanity.

edit. Not trying to brag about seeing it, it was so obvious. Several people around here said the same thing. And we are just casual fans, so what do we know?

Jeff Garcia

OBVIOUSLY Garcia >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bryce.  But I thought coming out of Alabama, that was the best comp for Bryce.  I can't really speak on Doug Flutie because I haven't seen much of him.

I don’t remember Garcia being that small. I don’t remember a ton except that like they couldn’t get rid of him he kept being the QB and was okay. Won some games.
Just looked, he is the same size as Brees 6’1” 205 smack in the middle between Bryce and prototype QB size.

Flutie 5’10” 180. Near perfect match body wise. Without looking at YouTube just fuzzy memory, I feel like he had an NFL arm.  And was a good scrambler for the era.
Looked at some video. Yeah he had an arm.Fun guy to watch play and had been in the CFL. His path was the opposite of Bryce nobody gave him anything. Which made him easy to root for.

If Bryce could be Flutie we would be okay. I don’t think he is.

Edit: Flutie threw a nice ball. Hit guys in stride. Accurate good anticipation. I wish Bryce was Flutie.
