I want a Cam at QB but I'd settle for someone that isn't statistically in the bottom third of everything.

Edit: alright id not really settle until we had an elite player at that position haha

Yeah we all want to have the best. You are honest about it.
Cam had his faults but man did he have the tools covered.

I would happily settle for a guy in the Jake mold for a few seasons. He had NFL level tools. Not top level but we weren’t super constrained by his limitations and he made his teammates better and they also made him better. We had a fighting chance with him.

Matching his will to win would be harder than matching his tools. But we don’t have to have the best for things to potentially be a lot better. IMO anyway.

I think a player like Jake at least allows you to build a team around him without it feeling like you are ignoring the best position on the field entirely. And he had a couple of years in the top third of the league IMO and many others where you knew he was a threat and no stage was too big.

We just desperately need new blood in the QB room.

He will be 36 next year with 2 years on his deal.  26 is manageable but in 2027 it jumps to 40 million per.  I dont see how that is anywhere close to a solution.

There's speculation he'll be on his way out in LV, which could enable a restructuring of contract. But I don't actually want Geno at all.

I am not sure why he would take less than he is owed just to get out though and again it doesnt solve any problem at all other then getting off of bryce.   I am not sure who the answer is but I know its not him at 36 years old.

The Raiders will cut Geno this offseason. Signing Geno to start would be like signing Bridgewater a few years ago

    • I am literally too stupid to understand advanced metrics and it makes watching sports sooooo much easier.
    • I am not sure it should be a ‘sell out to go to the SB’ season. And hope they don’t think that.  At the same time I was thinking you absolutely must find out if you want to pay for Bryce or not. That means putting it on him. No protecting and trying to hide weaknesses with the run game and super conservative calls.  So I wish they would do it and find out, win or lose, 2026. No more developing. Time to do it. Let’s see once and for all.
    • My biggest fear with Bryce Young is that he will always do just enough to stick around. He shows flashes and then drops a turd so the hopium is always there. Like his career highlight reel if you cut it up to some hype music and did a YouTube video would actually be quite good. His great plays really, really look good. But after that video you look at his yearly averages for completion percentage, yardage, touchdowns, and virtually every other metric and it is meh as fug. Like you know Bryce is gonna be 13/23 for 157 yards a touchdown and probably a pick.  I will 100% give him his flowers for his athleticism and ability to scramble outside the pocket. I haven’t seen the mythical “super processing ability” he was touted for per se, but he has shown flashes of absolutely elite awareness when it comes to scrambling. The little basketball move he does to shake defensive linemen has almost become a signature move. It’s hard to explain but you know it when you see it he stops on a dime and pivots like he is gonna hit a step back jumper and it has gotten him out of a lot of trouble.  I sincerely, truly, as a vocal Bryce HATER, hope that since we are obviously running with him next year the coaching staff actually tailors plays around his strengths. He needs to be in a pure spread IMO. His size is much less of a hindrance when he can play QB in open space. I feel like most of his highlight reel is from scrambles and play action/bootlegs.
