Canales had Young’s footwork straight in preseason 2024. It really is a next to impossible quest. Young does not have the discipline to stick with it when the chips are down. He reverts. Just about everyone with that sort of handicap reverts a bunch of times before the change sticks. If it ever does.
That bad stuff is so ingrained in Bryce you probably will never get it out.

How you like the scramble out the pocket avoiding 3 sacks for a TD to TE huh

The scramble TD throw Bryce had in the red zone was impressive and a great play all around from him and Sanders.

As far as his manuevering out of the pocket and his scrambling ability going forward we should keep things in perspective though. The reason that play worked out so well was because he had a short field and the end zone in front of him. That play at mid field or beyond is going to largely end the same way it did on third down late in the game when we were forced to settle for a FG because Bryce has difficulty seeing the field. And that is how defenses are going to continue to play him going forward. You can be sure the Seahawks will be keyed in on the same gameplan. Let's hope our defense is ready to go to work on Sam Darnold.

Saying something assertively doesn’t make it true, and I don’t know in what world picking up Bryce’s 5th year is some fait accompli

He’s certainly not earned it on the field. Playing arm chair psychologist with tepper isn’t very compelling.

They really don't have a choice. Who are they going to get to replace him? He has played well enough to keep him around for a bit, but will not perform at a top QB level. If he has a decent OL and receiver's, he can win some games. They still need to fill holes and can't afford to ignore it

I watched on radio. They didn’t say anything about 3 sacks.  If it was the out of the pocket throwing on the run it wouldn’t involve the footwork I was talking about anyway.  Probably.  Unless he stopped and got set to throw.
I am always happy when we get a TD.
