Gave him credit for the good plays the throw to Coker in the corner of the end zone was something that Bryce has struggled with heavily. It was great to see it executed to perfection.

That being said. The final drive basically set fire to everything else. Bryce is 13 years younger than Matthew Stafford and was throwing ducks out there like a washed up Peyton Manning. Not ok.

He was running for his life. Get some reasonable thought going on this and it's a discussion

Wait... there are people blaming this game on Bryce right now?

Came here expecting folk to say we may have found our franchise QB. But, the huddle gonna huddle. Peace out.

Bryce played well and then shat the bed at the end. Nothing will change my opinion of Bryce, nothing. Until we get a real QB we will never win a Super Bowl.

Exactly. If you can't win a Super Bowl with the guy you are just wasting time and resources. You either keep looking and improving the roster for whoever the next guy may be or you triple down and give him an extension.

I'm a doubter. I have been a doubter. I was a doubter this game.

No longer.

He did what he needed to do. What he could do.

I mean poo, he was down 14-0 and had us down by a field goal before the half. That's poise!

I still doubt he's a future champion, but grudgingly I must admit, he earned his spot. He earned his 5th year option. He's not the reason we lost. He played well enough to win in the playoffs. That says everything I need to know about him.

That man can win us a title with competent coaching. I believe that.

Bryce had a couple dimes this game but even more terrible throws. He was late and behind Legette on 3rd down allowing the defender to break it up. He missed Tet by a mile when he was wide open down the sideline. He threw a terrible swing pass to Hubbard. He led Coker out of bounds when he was wide open down the sideline. He threw the ball away on 4th down one time, didn't even try to give a receiver a chance. Then the last drive he threw one catchable ball in 4 downs and even the catchable ball wasn't great. I give him credit for doing a great job at making those free rushers up the middle miss. Still don't want him as a starting quarterback.

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
