I think the biggest issue with Young is that when he has a bad game he has a really bad game. There's no middle ground. If he can manage to limit those to 1 or 2 games a season he might has a chance.

How many 100something yard games has he had this season?

There's 'bad' games where he literally loses the game for you and then a whole host of games where he makes sure you're uncompetitive.

How many sub 200 yard games are others having? You're missing the forest for the trees. You are fixated on the wrong thing. His issues are he cannot function unless he gets in a rhythm and he struggles to recover when he makes mistakes. Thats why we need a qb. Not because he's only average 150 yards a game.

He can't function because he doesn't have an NFL arm, can't see the middle of the field behind the DLine for approximately 15 yards and doesn't make up for any of these shortcomings with an incredible football brain and / or athleticism.

People were making Brees comparisons. If you listened to Brees on commentary a) he's clearly doing basically zero film work these days (Romo used to clearly do loads) but b) even he was calling out clear pressures e.g. "They're simulating pressure here, so you probably have to get it out quickly".

He used to obliterate us because he knew what we were running. Young clearly has no clue what the opposition is doing.

Yeah I've heard that a million times. That's proven to be false. He doesn't have the strongest arm but its strong enough. He sees the field well enough to be effective. His problem is mental because he doesn't want to screw up, which leads to him screwing up. When he plays free he does rather well. But I still want another qb brought in because I think he will struggle with that all his career.

Strongly agree to disagree.

Yeah dog I respect your posts but I cannot get on board with this assessment.  His mechanics are poo and he he struggles to see the field.  I mean even player loving Aikman pointed this out last week

If you're talking about the 49ers game he wasn't seeing anything in that game.  It was mental. He wasn't trusting what he saw. They've ran that same play numerous times and he made that throw. In that game he was missing everything not wide ass open. Thats one of his problems and why we need a new qb.

Can’t see the middle of the field?

If you don’t watch the games just say so

Bryce isn’t Kyler Murray when it comes to seeing the middle of the field

In my opinion bryce vs the saints is gonna be a big game. Made him look really bad last game, important Divisional game on the road & you are getting 2 weeks to get ready. You CAN NOT have a bad game coming off the rams. Consistency is to big here. Keep it going.

I think he will go as the running game goes. As long as Dave doesn't abandon the run in the 1st quarter before they can even establish it they should be able to pass it more efficiently. If he comes out trying to prove a point by passing on every down then I suspect it will not go well.

At this point we know Bryce will be here. What can’t happen is going into next season with Andy Dalton as QB #2.

    • I could smell this excuse coming. Any starter drafted after the 2nd is a bonus, not an expectation. Oh we need more offensive help because we spent so much on defense. We spent all that because we've barely drafted any defensive starters the last 5 years. The way I see it you'll get a better return on investment in defense than offense currently with this team. We proved that last year with just a modicum of investment in the defense. I'm not the biggest believer in Evero but I trust him more than Bryce.  The biggest factor holding the offense back wears #9. Accuracy is one of his strengths? 23rd in the league while being 30th in Y/A. Someone will claim we get no YAC but 49% of our yards were YAC which is higher than most teams in the league.  Unless he drastically improves you're going to get a bad return on investment. Yes TMac had a great rookie year but it wasn't exactly efficient volume wise. He has one of the worst catch % in the league at just 57%, probably related to that 23rd accuracy ranking.
    • If this team lets the Bucks or Bulls catch them, Charles Lee should be fired immediately and punched in the face by some random fan on the way to his car.
    • Bucks and Bulls have to try hard to tank and not take our play in spot at this point, still not mathematically eliminated I think but too tired to do the math, too close for comfort either way to close out the regular season in a drought
