The way they are handling now is how they should have handled it from the start instead of that you get a series, you a get a series. Let Chuba spell until he had some of his step back. 

We definitely could have put a better showing against Buffalo and their weak run defense had we employed the same game plan we did against Green Bay.

Saints were determined to stop the run and make Bryce beat them, Atlanta had similar plan and the coaches and Bryce were able to respond. 

Rico although didnt have the best rushing game was vital in the passing game and his catch and run help get us into the redzone there at the end of regulation probably should have been a touchdown that out of bounds was a judgement call it wasn't conclusive and thus should have went with the original call on the field. 

Roco brings that dawg to the offense that it shorely lacked up until Miami game.

Interesting it was his call that help seal the win for us, glad the coaches were listening.

Hope they can get a deal done and run it back next year.

I was going to post a thread about this game is the first one in which Hubbard look "fresher' than Rico. 

 

I think Rico is also playing with about 7 issues on/in his body. Simply need 2 RB that can be lead dawgs in this NFL, that's part of the reason for the low market...

What has gone wrong with the Panthers in prior years to this one? Is it poor Defense mostly?

Poor ownership decisions dating to around 2019 

Then the trade for Bryce Young was very costly and he so underperformed (IMO) that they were compelled to pump even more assets into putting players around him. OL to RB to WR - FA money and high draft picks, you name it.

But offense was king and defense was an afterthought. For most of three years.  Until we picked Scourton in the second this year there was nothing over a single 3rd round pick spent on tne defense since Jaycee Horn was taken in the first round - and he is on his second contract. Defense has been a black hole. 
That is the Cliff Notes version, or at least it is my Cliff Notes version.

Just poor roster management.

The NFL out of all the professional leagues is set up for a team to rise from worse to first from one season to the next.

So to go 7 seasons without a winning record you have to make some really poor choices in coaching hiring, and roster management.

One thing about RB's and LB's is they are going to get hurt. It's inevitable. Having a fresh Chuba is not a bad thing. 

My only criticism of this entire situation is that I wish our staff would adjust personnel to matchup a little better. I think Chuba is a lot better than Rico against the stacked boxes we've seen the last two weeks. They are very different backs with very different strengths, and I love them both.

Rico is so good at identifying the hole early, and hitting it full speed early. He's much better at breaking the big run. Chuba is a much more patient back, and finds 3 yards when there's nothing there better than Rico.  It's in no way a criticism of either, but I think Chuba would have had more success than Rico the way the Saints and Falcons attacked us from a Defensive standpoint.  When you put 9 in the box, often times there is no hole to attack.

Agreed, Starting with Hurney and going to Fitterer just put us further down the list.  Very few starting caliber players.   Many don't like Morgan but overall, I think he's done a great job bringing quality FA and drafting well.  No GM is going to hit on every pick.  That said I also think DM learns from his mistakes.  

Most importantly keeping our owner out of the decision making is part of the reason we are starting to climb out of the hole.

      Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.

      Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
