How many Qbs can you name better than Bryce Young?

Okay, whatever. Some people can't resist taking a crap in another man's cleats. Even after the guy set the new franchise record for passing yards in a game, won that game and won it against our division rivals.

Yeah, he's still a frog, warts and all. A lot of you are tired of kissing him. A lot of you just keep seeing the frog and want it gone, for your own good reasons. Truth is, though, the franchise is going to keep kissing this frog in hopes of finding a prince through the rest of this season, no matter what happens.

We've got Andy Dalton on the bench, just keeping it from flying up in the air and basically no one on the active roster behind him. We have the veritable murderer's row of opponents coming up, including half of the game vs division opponents, including two versus the division leading Bucs. There's really not an easy game ahead of us unless New Orleans decides to pack it in early and just phone in a contractual obligated effort.

The only way, the EFFING ONLY WAY, Bryce comes out of this turning into the prince is if he wins four or more of these games and somehow gets the team into the playoffs. And you can read it here, there are a lot of people here who are actually afraid of that because they could be proven wrong about him, that we could be saddled with a QB they don't like because of it.

They'd fuging rather lose games and shorten the season to see Bryce fail, even if it means their team fails. Man, that's fuged up.

Root for the team or go the fug on. If that means you've got to pull for the little guy in the fight, then you  do. Hell, the odds are certainly stacked against him. But it sure would be nice if we hit a patch of magic after years of futility. But you guys would crap on that, too.

Miserable old fugs.

So we are all supposed to bow now? Or can we wait until after the season?
The fear is not that he would prove me wrong, it is that the people in charge are fooled again and accept subpar results as enough progress to make a new commitment. And of course, we get the same start to next year as this year and the previous two years.

I am not afraid to be wrong.

I have consistently said let’s let these games play out.

I am just unwilling to accept one or two nice games a year or three or four and the rest working around him like we have to do, as proof of success.
IOW I am afraid you are wrong to crown him, the FO will be wrong, etc…

And screw you too calling people miserable old fugs.

Sorry, I'm just tired of this constant gnashing of teeth and cutting of our flesh because of something we can't control, even in the face of what was a helluva game with an amazing, gutsy comeback by the whole team.

Geez, can't we just enjoy that moment and maybe hope that we might deserve some more ahead of us?

Why do we have to just sit around and punch ourselves in the nuts even when it is far from deserved.

Apology accepted. I take back the fug you.

I am sick of the same arguments. How many fuging days in a row must we talk about the same thing. It is always the same thing.
I’d be fine to move on from him no matter what he plays like just to get rid of that dynamic at this point.

This forum will fight over whoever the QB is. Jake and Cam in their good days had their fans and detractors. Everyone takes this so effing seriously sometimes that we forget we don't live and die by this but watch instead to take us away from the strife of the world for just a little while.

Yeah, it's bread and circuses, but when the poo is deep, at least you've got that, yanno?

    • Plus he was in the era in which Safety, LBs, and CBs could de-cleat WRs/TEs on crossing routes. He was beyond tough too. Plus those numbers his 4.66 40 time etc....... GameDay with 15 LBs of pads/clothes/tape, he was the fastest guy on the field. In fact I never recall at any point Rice being ran down or "hawked" from behind by any player. He was a gamer and clutch, just like lex Lugar the total package.
    • Not all talent can be measured with a ruler and stopwatch. His hands, body control, and skills were ELITE.
    • He did have talent, but if you look at his combine/workout numbers...they are not eye popping like many of the combine freaks are. All the best have talent, smarts, and work ethic. What he was able to do in his 40s, he holds all the records after 40. He had two 1k seasons at 39 and 40, no other WR has 1k after 36. He came back from a ACL tear within 9 months after he turned 35 years old. You know this is the era where ACl was a career derail-er and it took most mortal men took a full 12 months and they were never the same. Only two other players have made catches at that age (40) and neither one was a wide receiver. LOL at Tom being one of them....   I also read or heard, he would have still played if not for ST. He was going to play for the broncos in 2006, I think he would have been 44???, he earned a spot as the #4-6 but the numbers game of having WRs play ST ended his career. He could still get open and play, just no sense in having the GOAT run head first into a wedge on KO duties.....
