How many Qbs can you name better than Bryce Young?

At his best he's still not top 12, that's another problem of all this BY talk....

His normal and averages out, 22-28 I feel is fair to the BY stans and haters.

Again this is 2.7 years into this career, if your best isn't enough and your normal is bottom 8%, like what are we talking about here??

Imagine the numbers of many of QBs that haven't been given 2.7 years of starter, I feel 95% could at least be as bad as BY or better. Fields and Lawrence are about the only QB that have enough starts and you could make a decent case they are worse.

Everyone can hate all they want, but Bryce will be here next year. The draft isn't good enough to go after anyone and I don't know of any QB that will be available that will turn the Panthers in a playoff contender. Do not be surprised when they sign him to his 5th year option.

Him being gone next year is a possibility if the franchise deems he is beyond repair and they attempt to garner some sort od return assets. I don't view this as very likely at all.

The remaining games will determine his 5th year option, IMO. Even if we are lukewarm on him, we are likely to keep him on the roster next year.

Unlike most of you, I do not assume the FO thinks he is beyond repair.

For the first time since 2017 the Panthers have a chance to be in the playoffs. One more game will tie them for the most wins since 2018, 2 more wins will put them at 8 wins - the most in 8 years.

Hate all you want but a big part of that success has come from Bryce. He got them in the hole with Miami but he got them out of it as well and was a big part of that win. Against Dallas, he played very well throughout the game plus he converted on a 4th down in the final minutes putting them in FG range for the win. He may not have had a good game against the Packers but he did convert on two 3rd down conversions in the final minutes to help seal the win and of course the Falcons game was his best yet.

Tepper likes him and they have a huge investment in him as well. You don't just throw that away unless you have something concrete lined up behind him - which I just don't see.

you always push in to the weird position of defending people I dont really like, but you don’t know any employee is a bad fit until it plays out. A lot of folks here were excited when Rhule was hired. He’s clearly good at selling himself, he keeps landing head‑coaching jobs.

We also don’t know that Tepper was the driving force behind picking Bryce. The general feeling at the time is that he was the best player, The Teppers part is mostly rumor we’ve treated like fact. And it was 3–4 years ago. Most of us have changed our minds on Bryce like ten times since.

Lastly I don’t think he’s calling the shots anymore. He seems looped in, not leading. I worked for the Panthers for about eight months, and I almost never saw him in the office. Dan Morgan and Brandt were there every day. That’s anecdotal, not proof but it suggests Dan is doing most of the work.

if you asked me today if the Panthers are going to pay Bryce, I dont see it. He has not played well enough to heavily invest in him.

Don't forget that Rhule actually took Tepper's offer to the Giants and they balked. He was just seeking the big payday which should have been a red flag.

I have no idea how much time Tepper spends within the Panthers building. I do know that he in the past has been too much involved. He supposedly held weekly meetings with Reich. Then after firing Reich Tepper he held a press conference where he did virtually all the talking and made it about himself. Before that Tepper went out of his way to bloviate to the press about how he spoke to Bryce Young months before the draft and directly told him he wanted him to be a Panther. Then he went to the well of his selling point about Bryce being a point guard and we wouldn't need to invest in elite weapons. The guy thinks and talks like he knows what he's doing. At the end of the day the franchise has been in the gutter in large part due to he and his wife's involvement. It is what it is.

Appreciate the convo.

Would you agree with that?

You are a fair point argument guy, but I disagree that Bryce got us out of that Miami hole. You know who Rico Dowdle is, right?
Just a small quibble.

IMO when I look at him and see his output in a typical game I imagine what he did that a replacement level guy wouldn’t or couldn’t have done.  And I have trouble seeing much difference.
So assuming they can’t replace him with someone’s backup, not everybody’s but there are guys sitting, assuming they can’t replace him for probably less money would potentially be an erroneous assumption.

But based more on his relationship with the team and the guys making the decisions, the question of will they? I tend to see them sticking with him.
I never wanted him at all. But after all the misery of the Bryce era so far, I don’t have a problem with waiting until the season is complete to decide. Bring it on, I can take it.

So I am not ranting that he needs to go, although I have certainly done that and can’t say he has changed my mind to this point.  He still could.  We’ll see.
