Also, for the record, I don’t know why Simmons hasn’t stuck around any of his stops.  I know he’s considered a jack of all trades and master of none.  But going back to his time with Arizona, one of the first games I watched him in, he stuck a ball carrier in OT I believe, against the Raiders, caused a fumble that was returned for a TD.  If you look at his stats, they aren’t mind-blowing, but they’re impressive for a guy who has played several different positions in the league.  He seems to always have made plays that win his team’s games.  My hope is, maybe being forced to sign him, that maybe we just found another Hasson Reddick-type of deal.

I would rotate him in to edge as well. 6’4” and 240 and athletic as he is, he can’t be worse than DJ Johnson was

As difficult as it may seem to believe, many times a good player is drafted into the wrong system and gets discouraged.  Ironically, the later you are drafted, the less time you are given to make your mark.  These are basically kids.  Players develop differently, and they catch on at different times. We seem to be good at developing talent on the OL, CB, and maybe RB.  We seem to struggle at WR, S, QB, LB and Edge.

I actually think (moving forward) that our CB room is pretty solid and a mild surprise.  I have been pleased with the development of Smith-Wade, Thornton, and Jackson.  Throw in Horn, and that is a solid room, based on my observations.

I do. He isn't good at really anything but being an athlete.

He will never in his lifetime be Hasson Reddick.

Special Teams is an area where he could actually make a career, if he focuses on doing that well.

No he’s one of those weird players that are naturally athletic but not good at anything. Like the people Fitterer would draft. Had Scott been here a yearly earlier he would have picked him over Derrick Brown.

His understanding of football is on the level of ian thomas 

He’s another Aaron curry or Trent Richardson. Dude just literally never learned how to play football.

Isaiah Simmons is absolutely horrible. His change of direction is poor, but the most disturbing part about him is how physically weak he is for his size. He can get stiff armed by WRs and knocked to the turf. 

Simmons will play OLB for us due to his height which can help in pass coverage. Keep in mind that he's terrible.

The only use we could have for him is to have him run at the QB as fast as possible every play with his arms up to cause some type of disruption.

If I were Evero I would tape his arms to 2x4s like a touchdown signal and tell him to run C gap every time.

Lmao just have him run somewhere randomly every play so that the offense has no idea what’s coming.

That’s how Matt Diaz used to play baseball. He’d decide to swing or not before the pitcher even selected his pitch. It got in their heads.

Didn’t even make GB’s 53. Had a workout with Pittsburgh this season and they opted to sign one of our ex guys instead.

that whole weird elevator interaction dating back to his draft year combined with him not being able to stick on any team tells us despite the athleticism there’s probably a bit of personality issues with him as well
