How We All Feel About Bryce...

I am not saying this to be hyperbolic, I’m being genuine when I say that have we considered if Bryce has a mental illness? ADHD? Bipolar? Clinical depression? I mean some games he genuinely looks like he wants to be dead, and other games he’s manically excited. I’m not joking when I say this has to be something that is in the realm of the possible.

I think you are largely seeing the law of averages that takes place when a subpar QB gets never ending reps at QB.   It’s mostly bad.  But you are going to get some good.   I don’t think it’s that complicated at this point

but play a PJ Walker in enough games he will throw the longest TD pass in a NFL season.

Yea man, we need to see how he does for the rest of the season. But this game was a huge statement game from him in terms of the argument to keep him.

If Bryce has a couple more statement games  (I count the last ATL game and this Rams game as "statement" games), let's say vs the Buccaneers once and the Seachickens once, and we win the division?? He's getting a new contract sooner rather than later.

If he plays like dog poo for the rest of the year and we lose the remainder of our games?? He might not get a 5th year option exercised and you may see him just straight up play out his 4th year and a VERY hard decision will be made in 2026

The most likely path? Bryce has a few bad games , 1 or 2 more good games. We barely miss out on winning the division.  He gets his 5th year option picked up, but doesn't get an extension. I think that's where we are headed.

I genuinely can’t say how he’ll do against the Saints in two weeks. It’s insane. Not sustainable and I want off this crazy ride.

There's a flip side to that, if he has 2 or 3 more great games and we make the playoffs, there's going to a tsunami of momentum to extend him going into next year.

If he remains inconsistent, we will all be arguing all off season long.

I think he's done enough to where he's going to at the very least, be the starter in 2026. Nothing is going to change that with 7 wins on the board at this point, even if we flame out and lose the remainder of them. We haven't won 7 games

If we win 8 games, that would be our highest win total since the 2017 season. That's very significant.

I feel like if we aren’t sure by now we really shouldn’t pay this guy. I’m thrilled after today but please don’t saddle the team to this guy.

Atlanta isn’t on the schedule.  One great game per season isn’t what you extend.  One great game, 8 bad, the rest meh/okay.  You can literally go sign a Mitch Trubisky type  get more consistent play week in and week out.

There are great games and there are games we deem great for Bryce.  They aren’t the same things.  Because Bryce has 2 in his 3 year career

Please don’t say new contract.
5th year option is rough enough to consider.  That’s 2 more years.
What if it’s the same next year?
We need to wait.

I understand your sentiment but I'm just trying to put myself in the minds of the Panthers organization and not the mind of a fan.

They've been so starved for wins and success. Do you think they will just let him play out his 4th year with no extension and no contract if we make  a playoff run?

I know that isn't likely I guess, because inconsistency has been the norm. I think it's less of a debate for extending him, and more of a thought exercise about whether or not they pick up his 5th year option or not.

I think that's pretty likely unless he completely falls off a cliff and finishes the season with a long losing streak and several back breaking turnovers.
