You mean minus about the last 10 years of the NFL and WR's?

This is old school WR mentality when it definitely was true that rookie WR's took a considerable amount of time to adjust.

This isn't that time period.

Unless you are still waiting because Funchess, TMJ and Mingo "just haven't been given enough time yet."

Boy, you really have a hard on for this guy don't you? I was merely pointing out where the negativity and bust talk is at this point in Panthers' fandom. It is pointed at XL right now. You were wrong about DB, and you may be wrong here. But I guess you wouldn't be Shonuff if you didn't do with the confidence of a three year old wearing a Batman t-shirt. 🤣

The difference is that I am not a coward that will conveniently "forget" or deny all the times I was wrong like people like yourself.

Oddly, I was very right about TMac, Funchess, TMJ and Mingo.

Let me guess, you thought those last three "just needed more time." If fact, were you one of the lightspeed idiots that said we would regret trading Mingo to the Cowboys? I seem to recall you were.

Wow, you really were mad about that weren't you? I just said you may be wrong. You instantly resorted to name calling and just down right nastiness. Wow, and I thought you were one of the more sensible posters here. See, I was wrong there wasn't I? I just needed to wait until we had the right difference in point of view for you to turn into a total schmuck and give a schmuck response.

Understand, you were one of those guys. Thanks for confirming.

But, by all means, continue to be wrong about "WR's just needing more time" despite literally the past 10+ years of draft data indicating otherwise.

I'm not going to continue to derail this man's DB appreciation thread. I'll keep hoping our players get better and you just keep dismissing them before they even play half of their first contract. I just prefer to wait a tad longer than one, one and half seasons before declaring people complete busts.

Fair enough. I also prefer to call a player what they are.

But, I'm sure your faith in Jonathan Mingo will be rewarded in the XFL.

I never said anything about Jonathan Mingo bud. You keep bringing his name up for some reason. But real quick, how's that Derrick Brown dismissal in the aforementioned timeframe working out for ya? 🤣🤫

He's been like that for a few months now. He fully crashed out on me over Adam Thielen of all people. Hopefully he works through whatever is going on.

Yeah I ate my crow like ~2 years ago.  Dude's been a beast for a while now.  I made the mistake of expecting him to have a huge impact right away, because he was billed as a full grown man as a rookie.  But it still takes time to adjust.

The thing is, he was a full grown man in college, but in the NFL they grow 'em bigger. Takes time to adjust and D-line is a lot harder than people think.

Kris Jenkins was an absolute beast for a few years. But yeah, top 2-3, no question.

I was thinking about Jenkins also.  I think if Brown has one more good year he is #1.  Jenkins career was pretty short unfortunately.

About the same as your XL fanboyism is.

Get that TMJ jersey out for the next game.

Gotta give hurney the credit for that one. If I remember correctly rhule wanted to trade out the pick.

I was never sure how much of that story to believe.

Rhule had final say on roster decisions, so he could have overruled a decision if he wanted to.

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
