Dave Canales for Coach of the Year - NY Times

He is probably about 10 down on the list of candidates. Now, if we win out, and things fall certain ways, the Seahawks would be the only other team with 11 wins, and we would have the number 1 seed by virtue of a head-to-head tiebreaker over them.

If that happens, then he would probably shoot right up the board.

That would take a SB win and I'm certain even that would do it.

Awards go out before the Super Bowl too I think.  We should have gone after Vrabel.  The ultimate Tepper flaw IMO is the personality types he wants working for him

Tier 1: Johnson, Vrabel, McDonald, & Shanahan (coaching through the injuries was impressive)

Tier 2: Steichen has lost some steam but still has impressed. Hard to discount Payton. Canales is in these ranks for me.

Overall, I actually think McDonald could become the fave if the Seahawks win the NFCW

Coen, rookie coach, has his team in 1st place, missed the playoffs last season.

Harbaugh, Chargers have been competitive from the start, and all season, despite losing both tackles for the year.

Schottenheimer, possibly if the Cowboys win the East.
