Why does Bryce get the blame?

Bryce doesn’t generate average production from the QB spot….

so a Panther team with little invested in their D becomes overly reliant to win games in ways they haven’t structured the team to win them.

was Bryce horrific? All things being equal did he lose the game? No. But everyone isn’t judging all things equally.   PJ Walker isn’t held to the same expectations as prime Cam Newton.   And at some point, you just have to acknowledge Bryce doesn’t carry the load anyone in his position is expected too.  Shough just happens to make that glaring.  Bryce being throughly outplayed….is a key reason we lost.  The PJ Walker bar isn’t Bryce’s and folks have to raise it

Because he threw for 168 yards against one of the worst teams in the league. Because we've scored less than 20 points 8 times this year. Because he's in the bottom 10 in the league in most passing stat categories.

Production wise, the offense had 14 first downs. Dowdle had 16 carries getting a single first down. His long run was 8 yards. If you take out that one run, he averaged 2.6 yds/carry over the remaining 15. Hubbard got 3 first downs with 8 carries. Bryce had 10 first downs either through the air or with his legs. yet he gets the blame for the loss.

Even with a 96 QB rating, being rated with the second best pff score and him accounting for over 70% of all the first downs, I keep seeing people argue he was the reason they lost.

QBs are judged by wins and losses 

in this game he didn’t do enough to win.  The team scored 17 points   As this podcaster says…he was solid, for Bryce meaning no turnovers, 160 yards one TD

in the nfl, that isn’t going to win many games   That is a fact   Life isn’t fair

Facts are we have a bottom 10 roster by every single metric, our best WR runs a 4.6 and is having drop issues, our line can’t protect to save its life and coach isn’t creative. The only reason we were competitive in yesterday games was cause of Bryce. 
 

We just saw Baker last week with way better supporting cast put up 120 yards on 30 attempts one TD and one pick vs this same saints defense.
 

But but but Shough outplayed him, Shough was playing vs the worst pass rush in the NFL, playing soft coverage, and anytime we stopped him they threw a flag and extended the saints drives. Every QB that plays our defense should out gain Bryce. Shough did nothing in yesterdays game but throw to wide open WR and on occasion his WR made circus catches

Baker is playing injured with a much worse offensive line. The stains are 19th in points allowed at 24.3 ppg averaging 12 is certainly an indictment of your QB.

So now Baker is injured? I guess I’m gonna use Bryce wrapped ankle as an excuse also.

And no the bucs line is better than ours, Baker actually has time to attempt 7 step drops. And the saints have the 6th ranked pass defense

which is why we heave a top 10 ranked rush attack despite subpar QB play and everyone knowing we are going to run it.
