Who will blow it Sunday?

I just want to see us fired up and playing like there is absolutely nothing to lose...we've done it against teams where we pretty much had "no chance" and look how it turned out. I want to give my TV a piledriver when I watch us shell up and play hyper-conservative.

we are turning into the old Detroit Lions at that point

The amount of mocks showing us take a WR is startling. Not good resources at the moment, for sure, but it does seem like the general opinion is that we are going to go all in on the current offense.

Which, I mean.....let's say we hit a HR at WR again in the upcoming first. Now you have TMac, Drafted WR, Coker and pick whomever of Horn, Tremayne, XL, etc. Especially if we locked in a good C, this now becomes a potentially attractive spot for an NFL QB. Well, minus Canales, I suppose.

I wouldn't be super against it provided we aren't reaching for a WR or dramatically ignoring BPA.

How about some line help, both sides, first.

Trade XL before talking about a 1st round WR 3 years in a row. Or a TE or...drum roll...a QB to pair with a vet.

And if it's not a speedy route guy with hands then just hard pass.

If a certain someone connected very much with this team, believes the whole thing about Bryce doesn't have any weapons, then bygod and damn the torpedoes, we will be drafting another wr in the 1st. That is just the unfortunate reality of it.

Y'all can cry all day on message boards, and put up signs, and wave mock drafts around in the air, and it just will not matter, because you don't know as much as he does, and as he has stated, he reserves the right to approve or deny anything having to do with this team.

Trading XL will be tough. Late round conditional pick, maybe.

Elite TE would be great.

Again, BPA. If it makes the team better, I am all for it.

He is worth a late round pick so fine with me. Make space for someone else and head off the drama when everyone else jumps him on the depth chart.

I just don't get another forst round pick WR unless that BPA has zero competition from other positions.

This season only ends one way...

We win this Sunday. Bryce is decent. We take back 1st place...

Only to then get our brakes blown off in the last two weeks.

Sadly, this is my prediction as well.  Whatever is the most painful option for fans is what seems to happen with this team.

BPA comes with the caveat of positional value and roster need included. Never let the latter two completely overwhelm the first, however. Our FO seems to lean heavily into "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE POTENTIALZ!!!" as a fourth category and often it seems as the #1 overall pursuit.

With as many needs as this roster has, I am not going to get upset over a real roster upgrade at WR versus some reach at EDGE or whatever other extreme needs we have. Overall, I want to see the roster get better. There is far, far, FAR more than one offseason of work left to get this roster into the top 10-12 in the NFL. That should be the goal.

I will not further hijack this thread, so this is it for me, as this is becoming more suited for draft talk.

When we let Burns go, well he is only so-so and we can find better pass rushers and more productive pass rushers.

We haven't. That isn't so much an endorsement on Burns, but more an indictment on our emphasis on pass rush.

To that end, we deserve what we have. 18 sacks. Virtually no pressure. The leader being our do-it-all seemingly only defensive player that makes an consistent impact on games. With something like 6 sacks.

It's a pathetic number for an NFL team to post. If we go wr, he better be the 2nd coming of Rice, Moss and T.O. to warrant a selection.

I agree. I was just using the pure BPA theory and not our BPA theory...which gave us XL vs Ladd.

All things being equal then WR isn't near the top of my lists tho. I don’t think we know what we have at WR and won't until the QB position is upgraded.

TBH, I think we might have something in Coker as a decent possession WR but outside TMac, it's largely JAGs. It's a moderate potential and probably the lowest floor of any NFL roster outside of those two guys. Arguably even with those two guys.

It's easily the worst WR room just in the NFC South alone.

So, I do think it's still an extreme need. Perhaps behind other extreme needs but it's a position in pretty sad shape overall.

Elite TE is what a Bryce Young QB needs--we get little out of that position.  Furthermore, our OL, the highest paid in the league, is ranked somewhere in the middle. Personally, I think TMac, Coker, Legette (to me, he just does not understand the position like he should--he plays a bit slow, does not feel the sidelines, and his route running is not great but has been improving.--still...)
