There has been some talk and speculation around that in the last meeting they went run-heavy to shield their defense, which hasn't stopped anyone since their bye week, and that Mayfield is not well.

Whether true or not, there is some sense in that thinking.

Maybe they air it out today instead.

Also the vibes on the team are hideous and the best writers have all but said they’ve quit.

Sprained AC joint that isn't healing because he keeps gettinf beat up.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but given the losing streak they certainly been on they would've been better off sitting him and trying to get him healthy for a last minute push. Given the state of the division I'm honestly surprised that wasn't the route they took.

I think elements are a mess there.  Mainly their HC and front office.  I don’t think Baker, Evans, Godwin, Egbuka, Irving, etc have quit.

Baker was out there with broke down body throwing for 350 last week.

They’ve got maybe the best front office in the league.

I think it’s pretty clear Bowles has run his course.

Yeah, especially if they lose today, hindsight is gonna be tough for them.

The league??! Eh....I suppose they are in the argument.

I wonder if Bowles is as much of a limiting factor as their constant staff turnover. Not that I think he is a great head coach by any means but it sure does seem like young OC's bolt in short order.

Delhomme was awful. Nostalgia runs wild when it comes to Delhomme’s time here

It really was a shame. In 03 and 05 we had championship caliber defenses.  We had Davis/Foster. Then eventually had Williams/Stewart. Prime Steve Smith

If we had a QB during those years we’d have won a SB

Delhomme was no way awful. He was kind of our version of Jared Goff. Passing numbers weren't as gaudy back then so he wasn't as prolific numbers wise but he was good enough to shepherd an otherwise complete team to a super bowl. Just had a couple unfortunate stinkers in big moments,  none worse than the divisional game against Arizona. But that doesn't undo all the positives.

I think Tom Brady and and a weak NFCS has made the GM look better of late than he likely deserves.   Tampa has struck out a lot on defense the past several years in the draft and at some point that defensive roster and where it is today….is a GM issue too, not just a Bowles one.

Imagine in a world where GWDs is the go to Bryce defense…..Jake Delhomme is called awful in 2003 on his Super Bowl run lol.

We all know what Jake was after the elbow surgery. It was bad. It was depressing. No debate there.

Let's get into the numbers.

Jake Delhomme as a Carolina Panther had 19,258 passing yards on 2,669 pass attempts. In comparison based on his current trajectory it would take Bryce Young roughly 3,295 pass attempts to exceed Delhomme's passing yards. That's 21 more games.

Steve Beuerlein as a Carolina Panther had 12,690 passing yards on 1,723 attempts. It would take Bryce 2,151 attempts to exceed Beurlein's passing yards. That's 15 more games.

We mortgaged the future and traded away talent in order to acquire Bryce for his abilities to be able to move the ball through the air. He is realistically marginally better than Jimmy Clausen production wise as a passer.

If Jake Delhomme was awful based on this set of standards by some Panthers fans then by that warped logic so was Beuerlein.

So under that strict criteria what specifically is Bryce Young??? 🤔

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
