Shackling another coach with Bryce Young is not the answer

I’d rather “shackle” another coach to Bryce until we can find his replacement rather than cut him loose to watch him go to a capable coach and win. Like baker and Sam.

we need to tell Dave to find an OC to call plays or go find somewhere else if he wants to stay if not cut him out right. And as much as our defense has saved us I’m ready for evero to go to. How many times do we have to watch us get beat on 3rd and long to a screen or a run play before pressing coverage and at least making the offense earn it before we try something different.

Prevent defense ?

If it’s bc the opposing defense is running prevent then how do you explain the deep ball working?

it works bc we ran an aggressive style offense after floundering around all game playing 4 yard football in hopes to keep getting by with a 4th and 1 dive play.

If I know the play calls from the couch what do you think a DC whose paid to do this professionally thinks?

No disagreement

Prevent seldom prevents at much other than burning time

he wasted a lot of time in that drive.  That’s what they wanted him to do

in a game in which every second counts, the urgency of this team and coaching staff is severely lacking

How can you count this game on Bryce?

honestly, the interception is the only bad play. But a good coach that knows your QB struggles being on time on a deep out maybe don’t try that Fuggin play.

other than that he played great today. And gave this team an opportunity. The scheme and the ideas this offense tries to run is so counteractive to the abilities of this team. We have big receivers, take a Fuggin chance so they don’t sit on the out route the maybe it works?

how about instead of running a gap all game and getting stuffed try a counter, a stretch or a lead off tackle. I can show you countless times where Dave forces the game to be played in tightwindows and refuses to take a shot to keep the defense on their heels.

the stupid flee flicker or fumble whatever the hell it was is a prime example. The next drive down Bryce throws a dime to Coker to score and give us a chance.

the Bryce hate is fine, but Dave plays a part. Bryce can hold it down until we find another guy, but Dave is a bigger problem IMO.

A broken baker elevated his team when it mattered.  What did Bryce e do?

Again, this is probably a bottom 5 roster in the league

to win games when youre the less talented team you have to minimize mistakes and limit big plays. Our margin of error is lower than the other team in probably every game this year other than the Jets game and the 2 Saints games. Its not fun to watch but it’s the best way to win. We took the training wheels off Bryce the first 2 games and we saw the result when he continuously put the defense in bad positions. As bad as this defense is on 3rd downs the scheme usually allows us to hold teams to field goals. When we don’t turn the ball over 3 times a game the defense holds up well. The issue with the offense is when the running game isnt doing much like tonight you see how one dimensional the offense is

Imo that’s preparation on the coaches part. The two TDs we had this game were passing TDs from the guy everyone hates. Look I know he’s got his limitations and I don’t see him being our guy long term. I’ve said all along to bring in talent around and keep him while he’s cheap and bring the competition and if he’s as bad as most say he will lose his job to a better guy.

what I don’t want is a retread vet like Russell Wilson. Just ask Pitt and Denver how that worked out for them. But you know what, they drafted guys while they stuck it out with some dude they knew wasn’t the answer

This was essentially our second playoff game in a row.

And it was another laughable performance, refs or not.

Shame on the entire org.  There's no excuse to have our final 2 games, with everything on the line have virtually no offense to speak of.

We kick a fg instead of try a flee flicker on the 25 we win that game.

that’s the frustrating part. You don’t always gotta win pretty.

but the Dave and Bryce offense has not bread a lot of confidence that I can agree with.

i just feel that’s more on preparation of the coaching staff than anything. You can’t expect to win playing in a 4 yard window

Man you're shooting from the hip with post after post giving Bryce the benefit of the doubt. Nobody has said we lost the game solely because of him. But Bryce has had two chances to come up big against Seattle and against Tampa Bay today and for nearly 4 full quarters he led the offense to 7 points. And last week he had barely over 50 passing yards for an entire game. He is what he is. Backup quality.

Again not shooting from the hip. Raising the idea that Dave is more the problem than Bryce. And it’s been obvious week after week.

look I’m not defending the guy only trying to say that we would be better off holding the dude until we find a replacement rather than spending capital on a retread.

id rather dump Dave than Bryce is all that I’m saying. At least for next season that is. The noodle arm doesn’t give me confidence, but calling flea flickers on the 25 has me livid and everyone wants to bash Bryce when stupid pop like that happens. The hate is in the wrong place IMO

The final 2 weeks this year was coaching no doubt.

I'm 100% out on Canales.  It was that bad.  I honestly don't understand how we managed some of our wins this year looking back, but its about how you finish.  This was terrible, uninspired football with everything on the line.  2 weeks in a row and we can't execute simple passing concepts that allow easy completions.

The players didn't have the discipline, the energy.  It's very much on coaching and the lack of real vet captains.

This team is void of real leadership, coaching, and top-level talent.

And its been year and after year w/ high draft pick, and we get this crap when it's finally meaningful.  They've proven to be a Jets/Browns level org.

And it wasn't on the little guy, but he's still not it.

Canales has been trusting Bryce to make calls and decisions throughout the games. Seems Bryce is a college QB in heart and mind. He needs the HC/OC to tell him exactly what to do so he doesn't have to read a defense and can just throw it blindly to a point for his receivers to make plays.

I have my doubts on Canales, but he needs a QB who can run his system. If he had Baker or Darnold instead of Bryce, I have no doubt the Panthers would be winning enough to compete with the playoff teams (even with their weaknesses). Canales could probably win more with Geno Smith or Russell Wilson instead of Bryce Young. Canales needs a vet QB like Daniel Jones and not a college QB project like Bryce. Canales will have continued success in this league. Bryce won't

They are both problems
