I'm OK with picking up the 5th year option (mostly because there aren't any clear long-term better options likely to be available in the offseason) but I need to see a lot more consistency before I'd support a full-on contract extension.

Its year 3. I don’t think he will ever be consistent

He doesn’t want either. He’s using a rhetorical device called a thought terminating cliche. An example of this would be any time someone says something like “well it doesn’t matter no one will do <thing being argued about>.”

he’s not actually interested in debate about this; he wants to nitpick specifics from a list of options that are unknown as you pointed out. Then he’ll just burden of proof you to death. The person most famous for this kind of arguing ended up exsanguinated from a hole in his neck, cucked before his body got cold.

the correct answer of course to “who specifically,” based on the past three years, is basically anyone that steps on the field.

Why speculate about who specifically the player is when we’ve seen it can be Phillip rivers, Russell Wilson, or Daniel jones.

Just get literally anyone.

Who specifically would you bring in that would be better than Young. I do not need the complete list of FA's. Just tell me which available QB you would bring in that you think would upgrade the Panthers' offense next year.

Oh I am aware. He is a Forever Brycer.

He was expecting I wouldn't even reply or give a wishy washy answer.

The truth is, there will be ample options at least as good as Bryce with far, far higher ceilings and a smaller group of CLEARLY better than Bryce options available, as well.

And that's not even touching the draft.

It's a far shorter list to find QB's in the NFL that are demonstrably WORSE than Bryce. Although I do have that list available, as well.

So I get to pick, in god-like fashion whomever I want with no limits????

I am attempting to give realistic or potential options but if you just want me to start listing better QB's than Bryce, I can do that too.

Like cranky just in case you’re sincere and this isn’t just some bit (laudatory if so) what you’re doing is borderline sea lioning and that’s a bad look.

if you’re unfamiliar with that term you’re basically forcing a conversation, getting defensive about being belittled, and never bringing anything worth debating to the table.

you’ve posted an opinion piece from someone who starts it off by admitting how wrong he’s been about this.

you need the light of islam Bro. Log off and recite the shahada.

It's a serious question regardless of electro's nonsense post. The limit is they have to be available net season. So they need to be a free agent or someone from the draft. Or, if there is a BU QB the Panther's could legitimately trade for. SO it needs to be realistic.

Placing made up restrictions on speculation about replacing a midget we made the worst trade in thirty years for. Powerful.

    • I like what Freeling brings to the table all around. If he is willing to put in the work he has an opportunity to be one of the better Tackles in the league down the line. Hunter Brazzell and Hecht are all premium additions but development from our staff are the key to unlocking them. Hopefully Lee and Wheatley will provide much needed additional depth to our secondary. Beyond that it's important not to get too caught up in draft grades. Many drafts over the years that turned out to be really good were not fawned over with praise. While some that were ended up being historical duds. Panthers fans ought to know this as well as anyone. In conclusion...
    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
