Evero HC requests!

Don't count Evero out of that Raiders job yet.

It sounds like most of their top candidates are either off the market(DaBoll, Brady) or may opt to take a premium OC job(Webb). If that happens, expect them to go all in on Klint Kubiak.

If he turns them down, the list of options they have even interviewed gets extremely, extremely small. Evero could in fact end up there.

Not very likely but it is actually possible it happens.

Evero played for the Raiders for his 1 year as a player. He’s also a west coast guy and a lot of people from his time in Denver are there now. Plus, his Pass Defense has always been stronger than his Pass Rush and Run D. Not bad to have in a division with Sean Payton, Justin Herbert, and Pat Mahomes.

My guess is Kubiak is 1st but Evero and an OC he named and they really like is 2nd. I wonder who that is, wonder if that could be Thomas Brown who is the Pass Coordinator in NE now.

Is it not common to wait with the announcement when the new HC is a DC or OC from one of the SB teams? Typically 2 days after super Bowl?

So, if nothing happens within a few days, there is one clear candidate that they want and Evero stays here.

Yeah, I don't think there's anything strictly forbidding it to happen but generally speaking it's frowned upon and coaches for teams still active in the playoffs aren't general announced as hires until that team is no longer active.

Honestly, they really should just make it where teams can't interview and hire coaches until after the Super Bowl. Yeah, tampering is gonna happen. That's just reality. But let the coaches still active focus on the job at hand without the distraction of formal interview processes. It would also help the league in term of extending the news cycle. The NFL is hot and heavy in the media and in football fans minds throughout the playoffs. After the Super Bowl that's basically a wrap until the draft news cycle gets into full swing. If you postpone the coach hiring cycle until after the SB concludes then you're in essence creating a whole new NFL news cycle during a historically pretty dead NFL news period. Seems like a win/win for everybody IMO.

Agree 100%.
