I hated the trade to #1 but wanted CJ he is still the better player but after the success and he started going to the all white party's and dating Amber Rose( a atheist, even though he said he is a man of God) it did make me wonder if his head was in the right place. Seems he thought he had arrived and the work ethic slipped.

Playing QB in this league is tough.  I can't hate on a man's work ethic without knowing exactly what it is.  From everything I've read about him, I seriously doubt his work ethic has dropped.  He had 2 concussions in 2 years, has his OL downgraded, got a different OC, and lost his best weapons due to injury in these short 2 years after his rookie year.  Throw that in with teams having more film on him and the drop-off makes sense.  Maybe he needs to change what he does in the offseason to adapt better, but I doubt he has an issues with work ethic.

It's still CJ by a wide margin.  BY has closed the gap, but the gap is still considerably large.  Let's not forget CJ was without basically ALL of his weapons in this last game against the Patriots, and I'm pretty sure he had an injury.  BY lost to that same Pats team by like 40 points.  In fairness, a good bit of that was due to the defense.  That said, BY was completely incapable of keeping us in the game.  Mistake free football does not always equal good football.  He still had a bad game.

I have seen him a few times. I don't see NFL arm.

he absolutely has a nfl arm and an overall skill set but his issue is between the ears.  He loses his mind quite a lot and throws a wtf type pass.  He is getting better, is young and improving so I expect this year to be his coming out party

He has gunslinger tendencies but I am telling you, I don't see a high caliber NFL arm. It's very, very average or below.

Ive watched every snap he has played and the dude has a howitzer

CJ Bailey is noted for having impressive, "elite" arm strength with the ability to "push the ball downfield with ease," consistently completing deep shots with high yards-per-attempt, and threading tight windows with velocity, making him a modern NFL-caliber quarterback prospect with no significant arm strength concerns, per 247Sports, The Duke Chronicle, and Trinity Road Times. He's described as a "twitchy thrower" with long limbs, capable of making difficult throws under pressure and creating plays off-schedule, demonstrating both power and placement.

Key Aspects of CJ Bailey's Arm Strength:

  • Deep Ball Prowess: He ranks highly among Power Four quarterbacks for deep shot attempts, averaging significant yards per attempt, showing he can easily get the ball downfield.
  • Velocity & Zip: He delivers throws with "requisite zip," layering the ball over defenders and hitting receivers in stride, notes Write For California.
  • Tight Windows: Bailey successfully challenges tight windows and places the ball well, even when layering it over multiple defenders, say Write For California and 247Sports.
  • Off-Schedule Plays: He can make throws with power and accuracy even when scrambling and creating his own space, showing advanced arm talent, notes 247Sports.
  •
In short, Bailey possesses the arm talent expected of a high-level modern quarterback, able to generate both power and touch to make all throws, say 247Sports, The Duke Chronicle, and Trinity Road Times.

Stroud is at a career crossroads. Certainly not the first young quarterback to face such circumstances and heavy criticism. Certainly won't be the last. I must say though the knives that are out for him already with a 3-2 career playoff record at 24 years old when others have been given passes for both playing poorly and not going to the playoffs at all or losing playoff games and still being propped up by the media is an interesting look. Seems inconsistent.

Anywho I guess we might as well prepare for paying our guy $30+ million a year when he couldn't complete one single pass in four downs in our stadium going up against a 37 year old QB.

The zip is what I am talking about. I didn't seem him delivering most of those throws with NFL velocity. Or not frequently enough. Like I said, I only saw a few games so maybe it isn't a big enough sample size but he seemed like a fairly classic "college good" QB to me.

I don't know... Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson, Christian Kirk and Dalton Schultz aren't bad. I'd definitely take that over Carolina's group. We have a few good young individuals, but no real veteran presence. That squad is gonna be bonkers, particularly when Nico and Tank return.

How did the Texans afford to put those weapons around him though?

25 out of 32 in OL spending compared to us at #1. And they gave up the same number of sacks as we did in 2025.
